    [expletive] those teams underachieved. Ugh I know what you actually mean, but it's worth pointing out that team won 97 games and somehow actually underperformed their Pythagorean, so it definitely didn't underachieve. beat me to it. that great team played great. playoffs are bunk.

    i completely agree and kind of feel like a piece of [expletive] for reading that conversation and hating it but not saying anything. the main thing, though, is that you're completely right and we can do a better job of getting rid of this stuff.

    when i was in high school, "spit/spat on it" was a common phrase for taking a pitch. however, a lot of guys on the team used the phrase "pissed on it" for when they hit the ball really hard. this makes no logical sense and drove me crazy.

    i've been thinking, and the perfect way for this "things seem to be going too well for the cubs" sequence to end would be a major rizzo injury during the all-star game. so let's all watch for that.
