gam thread did not get a lot of play tonight. probably because i wasn't here. apologies to those in the real soccer thread who had to deal with derwood as a result. here are my main HOT TAKEaways from tonight's game: ONE people are acting like america might do okay against germania lol no way TWO people are acting like michael bradley should get some credit for being good in the past. too bad my soccer memory is two games. benedict arnold xxxiv, imo THREE i jumped around and yelled a lot when america scored each of its goals, as did the people i was watching with. i don't want to make too big a deal of this, as this will HORRIFY any smart soccer people reading this, but i was the smart soccer person in the room. i was the one who explained what offside meant and how group play worked and why the game isn't over just because we hit the agreed-upon amount of time. anyway, everyone was craaaaaaaaaazy into how great our two goals were, which makes me really sad when i realize that america is going to play one more game at [expletive] 10 in the morning or whatever and then go back off the radar for four years. i'll be watching thursday, but they won't.
