    Sandberg would probably get some fat, greasy fingers on some tickets. yeah, i definitely think that it's possible for a manager to sell tickets (in february, especially). the problem with that argument in this case is that the people smart enough to know how big a deal maddon is are also the people smart enough to know how marginal the value of a manager is. meatballs who think sandberg is going to yell at castro and make him promise not to make any errors are the ones who'll turn out better due to a manager.

    i hope everyone who is all broken up about poor ricky renteria expresses the same sentiments when kris bryant stomps all over luis valbuena's job and straight up steals it at the end of april. it's exactly the same thing. by all accounts, renteria can hang around as the bench coach or the mascot or something. even if we do show him the door, he still gets paid. we should all be so lucky.

    Has a non-interim manager ever taken a demotion in the same organization before? I can't imagine that. And it's not like there's some FO job for him to take. [expletive], David -- can we get a Sullivan Warning first? whether they like renteria or not, it's pretty offensive for sullivan to refer to the cubs' black fans that way
