  1. do we not have a coach? why are they still letting him do this?
  2. i love stupid shoes and those are too much even for me
  3. standard 4th/5th OF who "mashes" lefties and looks gritty and stuff? A RH corner OF seems incredibly redundant with Soler and probably Bryant playing hundreds of games at those spots, plus Ruggiano already in tow as a lefty masher reserve who can actually play a bit of defense. I can see a RH CF because 1) the incumbent there is (primarily) LH 2) Ruggiano isn't much of a CF and 3) the incumbent has the most tenuous grasp on the position, but for a corner OF I don't get it. I guess there's a decent chance that if Bryant is an OF then you could carry 6 OF including him and Alcantara, but I'm not seeing much benefit to the Gomes archetype. also of note is the fact that jonny gomes will be 34 in a week and sucks
  4. asiata and pray for a td (or two)
  5. i feel like the absolute, absolute worst case scenario is there are emails from theo to maddon that say HEY OPT OUT IF YOU WANT 5/25 and the league fines the cubs like 500k or something. zzzzzzzzz
  6. i will have a jordan zimmermann plz
  7. Nobody can say, cuz it's a pretty uncommon circumstance. Ultimately, Maddon had every right to opt out without Tampa receiving any compensation. So my best guess is that it'd be a fine. It's pretty unlikely that tampering is proven, imo. Well yeah but it would be a bit more punitive if they can prove Maddon opted out because he knew the Cubs were offering him their job. When Maddon opted out, the Twins were the only team with an open managerial spot, so it immediately seems fishy that Maddon would opt out of his job when there was only 1 team that was definitely looking for a manager. Especially because like a week before he stated how he was dedicated to staying with Tampa Bay long term and abruptly changed course. I don't think the Cubs tampered at all (based on Theo's extremely confident remarks and the promise of full cooperation), I'm just saying why the Rays might get more compensation than a fine if the Cubs were caught tampering. Also, considering their willingness to give the MLB investigators full cooperation, if they maintained their innocence to the investigators and were later found to have tampered, the MLB could suspend Theo and Jed and/or take away draft picks/draft and IFA pool money. It's been reported that Joe Maddon made an offer to re-up his contract in Tampa and Rays management declined. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/jon-heyman/24782084/before-taking-big-cubs-deal-maddon-made-olive-branch-offer-to-rays yeah, this is really the cubs' best argument. the stuff with the lack of openings looks somewhat shady, but it's really easy to say that maddon opted out because he wanted to make more money and thought he'd get it from the rays if he were a free agent. they refused to pay him what he wanted so then he went and found somebody who would.

  17. Dreadlocks are not braided, they are matted. Rastafarians grow them because there is some obscure reference in the bible about cutting combing hair. I've also been told they take on the appearance of a lion. The lion is very important to them. I only know this stuff because I lived in Jamica for a few years and struck up an uneasy friendship with a few. Rastas also don't believe in refrigeration of food. i want to hear 100 more stories about your time in jamaica and/or your encounters with rastas
  18. Uh, yeah, I hadn't heard about that at all and now it's very dusty and filled with onions in here. it was very sad anyway, but that part where she started crying while talking about how they told her it had grown and there was nothing they could do was traumatizing.
