  1. Not sure how many Yankee Stadium homers Belli has with that very short porch, it was made for a hitter like Tuck just like the Crawford boxes were made for Paredes....but Tuck has not been hitting many long fly balls of late so not sure how many balls that died in right for him would have been Yankee homers.....but I'm sure someone could did that up.
  2. It's amazing how all the teams with the better records are playing bad ball at the same time right now, never seen anything like it. And at least they limited the screen time for the child ump, I heard the social media outcry was so severe ESPN got the memo.
  3. Yep, Jed and Tom have earned criticism in this. But the biggest reason - not getting a starting pitcher, has not been the reason we are scuffling right now. We can't hit and our best hitters have all quit hitting at the same time. And it sure seems as if they cannot find their way back.....doesn't it. I mean logic says they will but geez it's hard to watch.
  4. All I can say is I'm glad I'm not a Mets fan. All our bitching the Mets went out and spent and spend and the can't beat anyone lately. And they paid the Cards closer and he could not pitch a scoreless 8th, the some guy I never heard of hits a walk off. It's gotta stop some time right? I do remember the Giants winning over 100 games fairly recently and no one could figure out how
  5. So then 3 different broadcast outlets will unfortunately deem it worthy to show the over and over again the whole game.
  6. This mediocre pitcher for the Cards actually looks better than the mediocre pitcher we could not score on. I'm all for raging on Jed and Tom but time for some of the guys we have on the roster to wake TFU and start hitting.
  7. this is REALLY frustrating. It feels to me like we might not score a run again this year. Of course I know that's ridiculous but when you can't score against the pitching we faced last night, what else are you to think. It's just really hard to watch and it looks like our guys are all pressing.
  8. I'm not as down with most of your reasons for feeling better, but I do believe Tuck, Seiya and PCA will have some good hitting stretches coming up.
  9. Supposedly, one of Zombro's specialty was injury prevention in pitching. Hell, was he consulted when they picked Soroka? Because I agree with you that dip in velocity was a huge red flag for everyone who read about it!!
  10. I know they have more advanced metrics and methods for determining stamina, innings, pitch numbers and are health, etc., but I guess everyone including me is so used to the old methods that none of us can believe he will be able to make it to the end of the season much less beyond.
  11. Yeah, it was strange last night his stuff was looking fantastic last night but was moving in such a way that he was not getting the borderline calls that were strikes. He walked the guy then same thing started happening so he changed something started getting rocked. I did not see the game today but maybe he was getting those calls and pumping the good stuff? And not sure how long Horton can keep pitching but man.....they keep saying his underlying numbers don't add up but all he's been putting up is zeroes.
  12. I felt like we could have played another 9 innings last night and would not have scored. The body language is terrible. And my confidence level is zero that we are going to start hitting any time soon,
  13. And it's been against mediocre pitching, that's just a fact. We appear very tight at the plate, the pressure is wearing on us. Kinda reminds me of the 2007 and 2008 playoff teams that looked like Deer in headlights at the plate and they were done before the at bats started.
  14. I know in one of the recent broadcasts Boog referenced the hand injury Tucker got sliding like back about 5 or 6 weeks ago when he missed the one game.....he seemed to be insinuating that the struggles are related to that and his hand injury from back then and it's still affecting him. I'm not sure if that's speculation or has some merit but it would explain to some extent maybe, the lack of power.
  15. I didn't say our team, although it ain't great there either....I said our best players, or what I would consider our best hitters in Seiya and Tuck have been struggling for a long period of time. And even when they get hits they aren't slugging in that time period either. That just has to turn around and I think it will but man.....I'm still waiting and it's been over a month now.
  16. I guess you could say that 83, but this season seems to me to be unusual in the degree to which they are all playing mediocre baseball overs such a long stretch all at the same time. The 2016 Cubs had a 5-15 stretch at the end of June and early July even but this is pretty prolonged and watching our good hitters struggle so much for so long is really, really hard to take.
  17. Only because every other team that had good records in MLB outside of Milwaukee seem to be struggling too. My concern is we just aren't playing well, our best players are not hitting, our bullpen that was among the leagues best entering July has been bad in July and we just in general aren't playing well. While we were exceeding expectations and projections before we are not any more and I would say in the last month or so we are performing below both....time to start playing better with what we have then we can complain more about the holes.
  18. I'm heard nothing but very seldom is something like this not an IL stint that lingers longer than the original report says.
  19. I mean, I'm not the guy who is constantly complaining about Jed, but that 3 mile an hour dip the 3 games prior to getting him, was that just summarily dismissed?
  20. Yeah, that sense of urgency that Boog insists just isn't a thing in a big league clubhouse....well I agree with you I think it needs to become a thing. The Reds score the tying and go ahead runs after swinging bunts, the go ahead run on an end of the bat blooper with a 70 mph exit velocity.....all because all the good hitters on our team have all decided to quit hitting all at once and when they do hit it ain't homers anymore. No way in hell they should win that game with 3 runs....now WAY!!
  21. Do you consider that projecting "Very Well". I guess I'm splitting hairs, but I don't. I'd call that good....not sure that warrants the "Very"
  22. Not saying he's wrong, that's subjective. Just saying I'm still not feeling great about it - I was just thanking him for trying to make me feel better about it.
  23. I would say "very well" might be a stretch. For me "very well" for a guy who you are wanting and hoping to compete for a high leverage spot, most likely closer, would have to be a bet better than his were. The one pre-season projection I found was a 3.74 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP. Is that considered very good these days for a high leverage reliever?
  24. Yes, I knew he had had some bad batted ball luck and that the FIP was better than than the ERA, but the velocity dip you and others referenced is VERY concerning and also his 3rd time through numbers are alarming - but they say he will be more of swing guy so maybe they work around that?
