Splitting this off because woof, this tweet puts their record into context. I said they might be out of the race by May 15th. It's more likely they're already out of the race.
Oh yeah, there's not much to read into this year - yet - but sitting at 12-12 isn't exactly a strong start. It's the kind of thing that happens to good baseball teams early in the season but it's not a ringing endorsement, either.
Oh, I'm not writing them off in the slightest bit. I'd put them at no lower than 80% chance to make the postseason.
It's more of a perpetual issue with the Padres where they add more levels of ridiculous talent, yet have disappointed during the regular season for several years in a row.
Justin Steele on the mound again for the Cubs, taking on yet another season of an underwhelming Padres team. Yeesh, the talent level of the Padres versus their regular season record continues to be misaligned.
I didn't expect the White Sox to be good but I didn't expect anyone in the ALC to be "good". The Twins and Guardians look like high-80s wins teams unless things really click for either team, then they have a shot to cross into the low 90s.
But at this rate, the Sox will be out of the race by May 15th.
Style is really up to you, we just avoid "screaming head guy hot take" stuff. This is the type of video we often publish on Twins Daily:

A bit more than halfway! Let's use the off day to get things back on track a bit.
If they're back in town, @PackLandVA is up next. If they're not back yet, @spaincubsfan is next.
And if anyone wants to sign up again, please say so!
I don't really follow any other sports. I still secretly love basketball but I lived in Los Angeles for ten years during the height of Shaq and Kobe. I just can't suffer through the Timberwolves' perpetual ineptitude.
So... no?
