  1. Yeah, I thought it was gone based on his reaction.
  2. Rang him up ten minutes after the pitch but okay, I'll take it.
  3. And as a result, doesn't get the borderline call.
  4. Three runs is a pretty safe lead against this Tigers offense. That tack-on run was important.
  5. The Tigers have been playing decent ball lately, hard to tell what you're going to get out of them on any given night.
  6. This is a good summary of Detroit. They flutter between annoyingly competent and an absolute trashfire seemingly at random. They're not a good team but string together stretches of solid play.
  7. We have a tool for that! https://northsidebaseball.com/forty-man-roster
  8. Welcome to NSBB! I think the multi-announcer approach is becoming more common across MLB. I know a few teams use it now, though I'm not sure why.
  9. The key to cruising to an easy victory is to not allow the other horsefeathers team back into the game one run at a time.
  10. Now this is what a game versus the Royals is supposed to look like.
  11. Yeah, Wisdom has been quite good in limited playing time. In July and August, he has a .926 OPS, though in only 55 plate appearances.
  12. Stolen from the EW Facebook group. Painfully accurate.
  13. The Cubs have put themselves into something of a must-win situation to not drop a series to the Royals, particularly with Steele on the mound today. The Royals suck, just put up six runs early and cruise from there.
  14. Yet they still out-hit the Royal and lost, I see. As a person who watches a ton of AL Central baseball, the Royals are underrated in just how horsefeathers bad they are at baseball. Everyone is so focused on the A's that many haven't noticed KC is just as bad.
  15. I was out with the kids, what the hell happened? The Cubs aren't exactly getting off on the right foot during this stretch of cupcake matchups.
  16. I was writing this post in a defense that it's not that weird to wait that long and wrote that the Twins and Brewers haven't had that many elections during that time. Except the Twins had Puckett and Blyleven while the Brewers had Yount and Molitor. But I mean if you add Sosa - which should have happened years ago - that seems far less weird.
  17. Wow, what a win last night and way to salvage a White Sox series that had gone off the rails. I was driving all day so I didn't get to see it live but I bet you all woke up in a pretty good mood this morning! The Brewers are unsurprisingly getting knocked around by the Dodgers who once again look like the Dodgers, putting the Cubs only 2.5 GB and back into the third WC spot.
