  1. My baseball life improved dramatically when I began employing this strategy. If you believe the other person has a functioning brain and is capable of making decisions, why they make those decisions becomes a riddle unto itself, and often a rewarding one.
  2. That game was a lot closer than it should have been but ultimately, the Cubs walked away with a win.
  3. Now that he's up, I don't see a reason to send him back down (or end his season) unless he completely falls on his face.
  4. As Matt pointed out, these petitions are always granted. And teams can ALWAYS find someone to put on the IL (and most already have multiple choices available). If PCA plays well and the Cubs make the postseason, PCA will be on the roster if they want him there.
  5. Good to just be done with that Diamondbacks series so the Cubs can move on to a new opponent. Tonight's game could be interesting, as Jordan Wicks is going to pitch in Coors Field. You never know what to expect from a young guy pitching there for the first time.
  6. Here is the first pass at this guide. Please read through it and give feedback. We still have a lot of formatting to do so please focus on the content and anything that should be changed/added.
  7. Today's pitching matchup is much more favorable to the Cubs but wow, that game yesterday stung. Hard to lose a game when you get a performance like that from Taillon and use your best relievers.
  8. Why is Alzolay pitching here? Am I missing something?
  9. Yes, but I believe the umpire can advance/recall the runners at their discretion because these plays often end weirdly, with runners either continuing to run or stopping before they need to. But my recollection is hazy on this.
  10. Another day, another Wild Card opponent. Can the Cubs give the Diamondbacks the treatment they gave the Giants?
  11. Thank you all for your input, keep it coming! @Brandon Glick is writing this up so he may have more specific questions once he starts assembling all this information.
  12. Anybody get a screenshot of it? I haven't seen this ad at all, no sound on my end of things.
  13. The Cubs have made up some ground on Milwaukee, who has scuffled the past few days. The Cubs currently sit 2.5 GB of both the division lead and the Wild Card-leading Phillies.
  14. We're writing up a lengthy guide to Wrigley and need your input. Where do you like to sit? Where do you like to park or how do you prefer to get to the stadium? What food do you like at eat at the stadium? Where do you pre- or post-game around Wrigley? Have any other suggestions about the ballpark experience?
  15. A nice comeback win yesterday that salvaged a split against the Reds. The Cubs now have consecutive series against teams chasing them for a Wild Card spot so they can really secure their position over the next week.
  16. I think it’s no damage done. The Cubs split a series against a rival behind them. They have the two most immediate rivals behind them in the next two series. if you’re in a playoff spot, the goal is to keep the teams behind you at a stalemate or better. The Cubs held a stalemate, that’s a win. Now do it again.
  17. Nobody around me cares even a lick about baseball or even sports. It’s kind of funny, actually.
  18. Everything here has huge new fan vibes. De La Cruz is massive, he’s going to be beaten until he adjusts. No dude that huge is going to get through a season unscathed. Willson leaving the team was a good thing and the Cardinals are such an arrogant franchise to anyone viewing them objectively. Good, but also arrogant to the point of making massive blunders. Bellinger was a risk 29 teams should have taken and I said it at the time. You get credit for being a rational human being that has good baseball takes while the opposite is true of him.
  19. I’m having a pool party and was away from a TV for 20 minutes and…
