  1. that's what i mean. i'm not disappointed in the simple fact that he wasn't promoted. i'm disappointed that enough hasn't been seen in him to get him to that level.
  2. anyone who characterizes cutler as a douche doesn't know what that is, he is simply a dick of the highest order. nothing douchy about him.
  3. OK since no one really cared to guess, the answer is Michigan State vs. Michigan. Every other non-Nebraska matchup has occured over the last 14 years of the Big Ten Tournament. doooooooooooooooon't caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare
  4. We can hope he was working on his swing, etc. and when the actual games start, he'll hit better than he has. i'm disappointed that vogelbach didn't make it. what does this mean for him? i mean, he should at least be at boise by now.
  5. And he's white Good pick up
  6. the thing is, he's usually friendly in PCs. it's that meathead urlacher that gets surly and goes after reporters with his answers, the so-called face of the franchise. jay is usually boring, though he's been more insightful lately. Actually, that brings up an overall inconsistency. It isn't just PCs. Urlacher is easily as surly and stand-off-ish in general as Cutler is. Yet Brian is treated much better than Jay. Jay's persona is interpreted as, "pfff, whatever, I don't even care." Whereas Urlacher's surliness is interpreted as a guy who really cares about the game. It's no surprise which version of not friendly with the media would be treated better. good point

  8. Moreland just called Washington ''Warshington''. Lol
  9. in which case fake theo would have been right all along
  10. in his first game with the bears, he had a nice deep throw to a rookie knox, who got run out of bounds by charles woodson. i thought that season would end up better.
  11. i watch it over and over.
  12. i was about to say the same exact thing. castro hasn't really developed at all and now seems to be regressing.
  13. If you're black, you either look like Wesley Snipes or you look like Larry Johnson. There are no other possibilities.
  14. i give lebron lots of credit for bringing the heat back. that was truly heraclean. it remains to be seen if he can win it all, though. i will be rooting against him, no doubt.
  15. Nice article. And the comments show just how impossible it is to overcome that perception. people don't like cutler, he's got that frat boy persona that people bristle at. of all the quarterbacks in the league, i can say that for this team, for sure, i'd take rodgers above him. everyone else is speculative. The thing about Cutler's frat boy persona is I don't think he has a frat boy persona at all. If anything, he comes off like a guy who couldn't care less about frats trying to get him to pledge. i disagree, being in a frat and having people worship at his altar only encourages his lack of caring about anything that isn't a hot woman, booze, or football.
  16. you know, i'm going all silly meatball over the guy, too, but there's no point in freaking out over a week or two.

  18. I assume you are talking about soriano. you pay the cash to increase the talent that comes back in return. olney makes it sound like we wouldn't get much even if we paid. that's incredibly dumb. Doesn't seem that dumb to me. I can't imagine there's a big market for the guy, so no need to "give up much". I think he was saying doing such a trade is dumb, not that Olney is dumb for making it sound like that. yes. it would be incredibly dumb for the cubs to give up a guy who is an asset at this point for nothing. but olney is an idiot if he doesn't think that soriano could have value to a team making a stretch run. the market will come to us if he keeps it up.
  19. I just hope another buying GM is convinced that's the case maybe another week or so and they'll believe. they can have him or they can go with whatever DH option they have. in the case of the orioles, i think they should squeeze whatever success they can out of this season.
  20. at any rate, there's an incentive to trade him from our perspective, but not a huge one. if someone wants to add significant power to their lineup for a stretch run, they'll have to pay in some form for his services. it bothers me when lazy idiots like olney say [expletive] like we'll have to pay his salary and accept nothing in return because that is still the prevailing perception on soriano, despite the fact that he'll be pretty close to what we paid him this season.

  22. if we have to eat 95% of his remaining salary, it would be stupid to trade him. he's most likely worth what, 8 mil so far this year? if he keeps it up he'll end up being worth what we paid for him this season. if someone wants that kind of worth, they should have to pay for it. paying for it and not getting the benefit of it is dumb.
