  1. freel puts bat squarely on shoulder with a 1-2 count. i love that guy, but wish he would suck against us more.
  2. one of my best friends works in broadband sales. i haven't had a chance to talk to him about this yet. he might know. Thanks. Any solid info would be appreciated. Still hopeful. i'll let you know later today.
  3. if he does, i will wage a war on the folks who complain that he doesn't hustle. a war that will never end.
  4. please let the record reflect that RBI was not "meaningless".
  5. cuz Briggsy (as good as he is) cant play 3 positions at once... but who would play the will spot? posluszny?
  6. I'd imagine they'd have to sweeten it a lot to top the Redskins deal or am I just being dim? I think its alot better cuz we dont have to give up the 31st pick, giving us 2 in the first round...(thats they way I am reading it anyway..) still, maybe the Giants can kick in a 3-4 rd'r too... :) I'd probably take it straight up, if the Bears got to keep all their picks. 3 picks from 20-37 could conceivably bring in 3 starters, provided the Bears have 3 holes to fill. but why not just give the money to briggs instead of to 2 first round picks? You won't be giving $25-30M guaranteed to players in the bottom 1/3 of the 1st round. The 6th pick, was another story. 25-30 mil? i was thinking 15-20 tops for briggs.

  8. they don't carry any sports packages, as of right now. how idiotic. between the NBA, the NFL, and MLB, that's another $500-600 per year from me, if they actually wanted it. not that there are a ton of displaced chicago fans in wisco or anything.

  10. if aram pulls a groin or a hammy because he's hustling pointlessly and it has a severe negative effect on our season, i'm going to plotz. Nothing wrong with hustling (within reason). But I agree with you I just hope he tries to be careful because we need him. But I sure didn't mind his hustle around 2nd to score the 4th run. aram's value is how he performs in the batter's box, not so much outside of it, as long as he's average to above average in the field. i just don't think that his value goes up much when he's hustling, and the risks that his "hustling" incurs are great. Well I did say within reason. Maybe having a demanding manager like Lou can also bring the best out of Aramis in the batters box also. i don't think he needs it. he's already an excellent hitter. as i said, you can yell someone into production, not in baseball.
  11. It depends how much you love what you're doing. I love my job, so I'm at work early and stay late. The 72 hours stuff is probably a non-issue, but if you're being watched and judged wouldn't you want to make an impression? There could be several factors involved here that we're not aware of through the article. Witht hat being said, I'm not going to get all over him, especially if he was offered the transition time. After all, these guys are people that have lives away from baseball. Not acceptable. You've got to be kidding me. jinx. i swear i didn't see this post before i made mine. nice answer, even though we were responding to 2 different posts--same idea.

  13. He was on Prince a lot. looks like he locked him down. :D i'm assuming skiles had him in there mostly for defensive purposes. Skiles had him in there because Wallace was out and he wanted to try going small. He did a nice job on Prince. The whole team played outstanding defense. Hinrich put on a clinic guarding Hamilton. I'll feel sheepish about Thabo when his PER cracks 12. You know, Duhon production. :D i'm tellin you, he's gonna be good!
  14. Do you have any Maker's Mark? How about Basil Hayden's, Baker's, or Bookers? Sorry, I'm a whiskey snob. as far as bourbons go, woodford reserve is my fave. Woodford is quality stuff. Ever try Bulleit? That is a sleeper. no, but i will now. more of a single-malt man, myself.

  16. I did. 11 and 10 in 40 minutes. One of his better games. I liked Thomas' 13 and 8 in 10 minutes better. who was he guarding?

  19. harden apparently pitched great. the reason for the inaccuracy is that you've discovered some sort of glitch in the matrix. einstein theorized that everything is happening at once, and if there is infinite potential within infinite possible action, well, then, you know what that means.
  20. Cavs need to cling to that game-in-the-loss-column lead, because they lose the tiebreaker with the Bulls. hey man, did you see thabo tonight? i didn't, but i read his box score. :D
  21. How does this affect Charter? i don't know, but i hope it does.
  22. I love Lou. But honestly Dusty DID show some emmotion the first couple of years. And had a real Gem when he threw his hat, threw the line-up card, and threw just about anything close to him while a'shoutin. And after that, He was "embarrassed" doing that infront of his son, and never did it again. while it's entertaining to watch a manager have a meltdown on the field, it doesn't do much for the team. i'd rather lou not have a reason to throw a base or go after the closer physically. but dempster better throw strikes. I don't disagree with you at all. Lou wasn't "physical" at all. But it was an emmotional type strict order. And players can respond to that. People can make of it all they want, but that type of passion for the game and passion for winning can really get the players to perform. i don't think it has much effect on performance above the idea of getting dempster to stop screwing around and just throw strikes. if you could yell someone into hitting a baseball, more managers would be doing it.
