  1. i think llloyd can be as productive as berrian in the bears offense. he's a similar receiver, maybe a tad slower.
  2. No, going by what I saw from Felix Jones.........HERE IN THE HEART OF SEC FOOTBALL. I like Meddenhall, but he isn't in the same class with Jones. Had it NOT been for the presence of Darren McFadden, Jones could have easily rushed for 1800 yrds, and without a doubt would had been the Heisman winner. yeah, i've never heard of meddenhall, so i'm sure jones is far better. no one's doubting that felix jones is good, but mendenhall is at least in the same class, most pro scouts have him far ahead of jones--and i'm sure some of those scouts get around to SEC games. you DO realize that mendenhall averaged 8.2 yards per carry in 2006, right? he split time with pierre thomas. he's had more than 1 good year.
  3. Not surprising Noah had his best game against Ben Wallace. :rotfl: he was on verajoaghfftjyyt most of the night, which was even weirder.
  4. it's because paxson enjoys the smell of his own flatulence.
  5. wait, i did mean to sound like an ass, but now, i have the ass's remorse.
  6. oh brother. I apolgize for that question. I understand heat of the game comments, and I should have seen how that question would be interpreted. yeah, illini fans are about as high strung as they come. especially at the end of a long and miserable season. didn't mean to sound like an ass.
  7. he had a couple of good stops on lebron, though.
  8. why do you recruit people who are so bad at shooting? why? i mean, do you expect to win with a bunch of bad shooters who give it 100% every time. this illini team shows exactly what effort will get you if you don't have a lick of basketball ability.
  9. another touch foul on a rebound, but neitzel, who has been headhunting on rebounds all night, has 1 foul. what a joke.
  10. We need his defense, Tisdale has not looked good defensively tonight. Big 10 isn't really a great league as far back to the basket players, but when Tisdale plays one, he's gonna get beat bad. Why is MSU getting home cooking btw? i noticed the same thing. the illini don't get calls when driving to the basket, but the spartans do? oh well, they wouldn't make those ft's anyway.
  11. i can take some consolation knowing that the illini would be in the middle of the pack in the big ten if they were an average free throw shooting team.
  12. illinois gets commitment from texas juco pf/c dominique keller at halftime of the msu game. good pickup, the kid is torching the juco ranks lately.
  13. is dorsey really the kind of dt we need? from what i can tell, he projects as a 3-technique. and the prospect of signing julius jones has sent me into a fever. look out, he's the missing piece
  14. bulls get revenge on the cavs tonight. noah with 13 pts 20 boards. nice job.
  15. The whole 0-2 thing was brought up because of Eric saying Bears fans are probably happy because now the Bears can stop being Favres personal bitch. Well the Bears quit being Favres bitch when Lovie came to Chicago, not right now since Favre retired. yes, this. anyone who says "I don't care if the Bears go 2-14 as long as they beat the Packers" is mental. it's a tongue-in-cheek saying among bear/pack fans.
  16. and for the record, i am against the bears taking mendenhall.
  17. where do you get that? it's worked fine in the nfl, from eddie george to larry johnson to shaun alexander. what doesn't play well is garrett wolfe-type backs, or, rather on donw which aren't 3rd. mendenhall will be just fine. Ummm... yeah. Shaun Alexander never makes people miss. And Eddie George never cut back. Oh, that LJ guy runs at full speed without utilizing his blockers properly. You picked three guys who make people miss and miss consistently. If running over people worked, Cedric Benson would be the best. are you suggesting that mendenhall can't cut back, never makes people miss, and doesn't use his blockers properly? because he does, if you watched the video, you'll see what i mean. he's probably one of the top players in the country in terms of understanding how to use blockers. furthermore, illinois utilizes the pitch and option, you don't excel in the spread offense without knowing how to cut back. well, this explains why i made the potemkin argument, doesn't it? 8-)
  18. there was a lot larger gap between the bears and packers going from 06 to 07 than there will be going forward, especially with the departure of favre. truffle is just a hater of non-cub chicago sports.
  19. where do you get that? it's worked fine in the nfl, from eddie george to larry johnson to shaun alexander. what doesn't play well is garrett wolfe-type backs, or, rather on donw which aren't 3rd. mendenhall will be just fine.
  20. a forgotten little gem from the man on the moon. God bless that boy.
  21. well get the tissues ready, because some tears are in your future I should also add that I'll be pretty surprised. I haven't seen any strong, valid indications that Angelo is looking at a RB with that pick. Yeah, I'd be pretty surprised (and pissed). Do people want a RB if Mendenhall is gone (i.e. Stewart instead)? Because I gather that a lot of the folks who want RB are also Illinois fans who would love nothing but to see Mendenhall on the Bears. we've seen mendenhall run. believe me, we wouldn't want mendenhall if he weren't worth it. like i said, powerful enough to run over linebackers and fast enough to run away from defensive backs. he has it all, lateral speed, pass catching ability, above average blocking, and he's a dart to the hole. every touch against wisconsin: check out the first highlight, missouri fans know it well:
  22. some guy from the west coast, an insignificant and rather silly place. :P
