  1. i don't know why you'd take mayo over him, other than the obvious reason. they're like the same player, flip a coin. i'll take Gordon. More ability to play the point, he is bigger, has a better handle, is a better defender, and I think he has shown the ability to make others around him better. I have yet to really see EJ demonstrate that. he's not bigger and he's not a better defender, and he doesn't have a better handle. they're pretty equal across the board. furthermore, you're the one promoting DJ White as the best player in the big ten, but he's not better because of gordon? He absolutely has a better handle than Gordon. I doubt you find any perimeter draft pick this year that has a worse handle than Gordon. He is obviously is bigger than Gordon too. . I would take Gordon over Mayo, though. Rose would be my first choice at guard. depends on what your need is. this is apples to oranges. i doubt you draft a point guar dif you already have one, and if you have one, you'd bve stupid to pass on gordon.

  4. Why? he's not as good.

  6. and i sure as heck wouldn't take derrick rose over gordon.

  8. Huh, Gordon still makes the same mistakes he did in high school and really didn't show any improvement under Sampson and has been passed on many people's draft boards by Rose and Bayliss. Huh. Huh, Sampson lasted all of a year and a half, but really it was just illini fans bitching about nothing, huh. how about gordon's the best player in the big ten and deserves to be first team and poy? as much as i hate the kid, i cannot player hate. I never said any big ten guys were better. I guess one could argue White was the MVP. But, still Gordon had a good year, but did he improve his draft standing or get any better this past year? I still think he did himself a disservice playing for Sampson. i think he improved his draft standing by proving that he's the best player, as a freshman, in a major conference. jmo.

  10. the bulls are so maddening. they need a coach.
  11. The only thing saving the IU program from a 2-3 year disappearing act is a dynamic hire (Illini fans, Bruce Pearl would fit that criteria). that would be way fun. if anyone is more hated in champaign than sampson, it's that man. he doesn't really bother me, but i acknowledge that heckling pearl in champaign would evolve into an art form. but seriously, it would probably upset volunteer fans a heck of a lot more.
  12. conversely, the bears saved a lot of money by winning their last 2 games, giving them some money to negotiate with harris and hester long-term. it's a give and take. however, if they could have scored a pick in the mcfadden range, they could have spun him off to dallas for their 2 first rounders and possibly scored otah and stewart. maybe they'd make the same deal for mendehall, who knows? who is mendehall? ;) ooh, ouch. see, i would have busted myself out there, too.

  14. In our defense, the last Illinois RB to have a decent NFL career was Howard Griffith; before that it was Red Grange. i really think that pierre thomas is going to have a good career.
  15. This is totally fabricated. I don't think so. And it's not a big deal. But if he kept saying "Colt Brannan" instead of "Colt Brennan," I don't think people would care enough to correct him more than once. oh, no, i think it would be hilarious and i'd let everyone know just how hilarious it is.
  16. can he? if he could, i'd say yes, right away. he could definitely play center if he needs to, to give pie a break. it would also give us an opportunity to end the great ryan theriot experiment. maybe we could trade him to minnesota, they seem to like players like him. he has not played SS at all in the majors i'm too lazy to check.
  17. that's not true at all.

  19. i'd rather not take shard, not so soon after taking benson and paying him a ton of cash. i'd rather not even keep the 14th pick. i'd either like to trade up and try to get long, or trade down and go o-line. so, either way, i want a left tackle.
  20. W/e, I only go by what I see. And I never said Meddenhall wasn't any good, nor did I say he needed to be in the SEC (although it helps dramatically over playing in the questionable Big Ten), all I said was Felix Jones is a better RB, then Meddenhall, plan and simple. And had it not been for Darren McFadden, Felix Jones would clearly be taken ahead of Meddenhall. Beisdes....who wants to draft a Big Ten RB, we all know Big 10 RBs, are like Florida Gator WRs, you just don't trust a high pick with them. who is meddenhall? and, for the record, stats don't mean much to scouts. ronnie brown was cadillac williams's backup at auburn and still got picked before him. mel kiper apparently has referred to jones as potentially a very nice complimentary back to share carries with a featured guy.
  21. oh, i understand now. w/e All I am SAYING...understand is that I saw Felix Jones alot, and he is IMO, the 2nd best back in the draft. Not to mention he is an electrifying return, in the mold of a Devin Hester. Not saying, he will have a start to his career like Hester, but he is simply electric with the ball in his hands. So IMO, Jones is better the Meddenhall. who is meddenhall?
  22. haha, all this time i thought jim boylan was the other team's coach.
  23. Even if he does completely bust, my guess is that he can live off that 1.475 million dollars he received. and even if he blows through that, imagine how much money he could make with a gun.
  24. tyler colvin better be good at mixing drinks or selling surround sound systems or something.
  25. who is meddenhall? oh, i understand now.
