  1. this doesn't make sense. i almost hope we lose now. how dumb.
  2. he was up there looking for the walk. way to put em away after you get two strikes, heilman.
  3. while zambrano gets in trouble for pumping his fist every now and then, nobody bats an eye when this a-hole has a seizure on the infield on every single pitch. i don't get it. we have also never gotten a single hit off of him and it seems like he's just a barely above average closer.
  4. they don't make that play 9 out of 10 times. jerkasses.
  5. jesus, people are so stupid except vontae didn't test positive.
  6. I'm guessing that's sarcasm, right? They've been on national TV over twenty times. considering that they were on tv twice this weekend, i think you guess right. i don't watch nba fast break and i don't see lebron winning multiple championships without another superstar. that's just my opinion, you are free to have yours. i see a wildly gifted player out there, but oscar roberston was wildly gifted, too.
  7. btw-marcus jordan to central florida. i'm kind of relieved that we don't have to share MJ with iowa.
  8. That woulda sucked, cause it'd be back to worrying about committed recruits until they signed the letter. As long as Illinois doesn't lowball him, I don't think he's leaving until he gets a nice head coaching gig. jerrance is on record saying hes never leaving U of I, but money talks. They need to give him a raise, because they money he reportedly turned down to stay at U of I was no small chunk of change. I dont know how he did it. what would he do with the orange cadillac? calipari is such a sleaze, he wants richmond, but he can't get him. in actuality, richmond was recruited by webster, so if calipari were smart, he'd keep him on at kentucky. but seriously, THAT'S EXACTLY why you hire people who have strong ties to your school. howard will one day be our head coach, and he knows it. he may go be a head coach somewhere else for a little while, but he won't be a head recruiter for anyone else.
  9. Was that the last conference title you guys won? Very funny. Edit: I was actually complimentary of the Illini in that post, too. i don't think Bobby ever forgave the illini for nabbing the #1 seed that year, while IU had to settle for a #2. jeez, if you think about it, that's got to be one of the best years for any conference in the history of the ncaa. michigan, illinois, iowa, indiana, even minnesota had a good team that year. but they had 4 solid solid solid teams that could have competed for a national championship. big east and your 0 berths in the title game this year, eat your hearts out.
  10. Michael Jordan. LeBron has to win a a title before you can even think about that. we had this conversation before and it was decided that lebron may be the most physically gifted player in nba history, he is not, nor ever will be a killer. and there are killers that walk the courts of the nba, even now. A killer? Is this some sort of "intangibles" argument? So somehow if a guy like Kobe forces up a shot regardless if there is an open man in the corner, that makes him a killer? Don't get me wrong, I can see LeBron needing to step up his intensity, but there have been countless times where he does/has. Did you watch the playoff game with Detroit? He doesn't do it in the same way Kobe does, but his skill and the results are still there. he's probably watched 2 cavs games all year, he doesn't know what he's talking about guilty as charged. but don't blame me, they're never on national tv.

What constitutes a "killer"? Not being snide, just wondering what your classification is. a "don't worry, he'll handle it" type guy. i just don't think he has what it takes to win multiple championships. he may win one on his talent alone (and that would be an extraordinary testament to his ability if that happens), but i don't think he has the instinct, or the consistent jumpshot to make the caves a dynasty. they'll need another player, and i'm not talking about the guy who has a pit bull with a halo tattooed on his shoulder, either.
  13. Yes, because many people consider it demeaning to mentally challenged people. You could call Turner a moron instead. Oversensitivity ftw! people will be offended by what i tell them to be offended by! awesome.
  14. If that's the real reason that trade fell through then everyone on the the vikings staff should be fired for stupidity. Instead, they decided keep Tavaris Jackson and trade for Sage Rosenfels :) I actually think Sage will be good for them but he's no Cutler. sage rosenfels grew up next door to my best friend's wife in maquoketa. he's not good, though.

  16. weapons are borne out of time to throw and quarterbacks that can throw when that time comes. it doesn't hurt to have a receiver that is 6-4 220 and runs a 4.3 with great routes. but not many of those types are out there. think of how many teams with a good quarterback not only have one good receiver, but two. now think of how many teams that have a revolving door at qb that have none. besides, a lot of guys would love to have a TE like olsen and a RB like forte. incidentally, those were the guys that excelled last year, and, most usually were the only 2 reads that orton had time to make. think of what a cannon like cutler will do with a couple more seconds to throw and a couple more reads to make. the receiver thing will take care of itself.
  17. tristan thompson is a highly rated 2010 texas recruit.
  18. You keep saying this and I still don't know where you are coming from. What should the Bears have done that wasn't, in your opinion, a patch job? There was not a single free agent that they could have signed that would have been a long-term solution on the line. There has not been a single lineman traded that could have been a long-term solution on the line. The best they could have done to upgrade the line and not patch it up is the draft, which hasn't even happened yet. If you are still upset that the line wasn't upgraded for the last few years, then that's a completely different issue. But the fact is, they got MUCH better at LT, while getting just 1 year older. They probably got better at RT, and got 7-8 years younger. They got bigger at LG, and stayed young. They have 4 lineman 27 or younger, with a decent chance of 3 of them starting. I don't see how they are likely going be "very" desperate for lineman either way. Worst case scenario is Pace being forced to retire, Williams and Omiyale both failing miserably. I'd say it's a longshot that all 3 happens. They have a solid backup OT in Shaffer. They have Kruetz's replacement in Beekman. I could see them needing a guard, but it won't be out of desperation. couldn't have said it better.
  19. I hope they are not done upgrading the line. In particular, I'd like to see them still look at tackles. I don't feel like we know enough about Williams yet and I don't trust Pace to stay healthy. If Angelo is going to ignore one side of the ball in the draft I hope he ignores the offense, but of course I don't think he'll ignore the draft. I would still expect better players in rounds 1-3 than rounds 4-7 though. I disagree. We have Pace, Williams, Schafer, and Omiyale. More than fine. not only do we have them, but we have beekman, garza, buenning, draft pick on the bench. while those names aren't anything special as starters, they're experienced lineman that give us excellent depth. the line is an area of strength this year, so we can stop pretending like it's still a weakness and actually now focus on the weaknesses. jeez, we patch a hole that has existed since the 1950's andpeople are still complaining. if we upgraded the defense, people would be whining about the quarterback and offensive line. come to think of it, we've upgraded the offensive line, greatly, and people are still complaining about it.
  20. he's about as photogenic as some of the people around here.
