  1. apparently, lebron ordered the tapes destroyed. it's a good thing he won his first title last season, because you don't get away with these things if you don't have at aleast one ring. I thought we were all supposed to be witnesses? yeah, it certainly kills that whole campaign or changes its meaning.

  3. but you don't generally win conference titles and go to bcs bowls without talent, regardless of the coach. you need the talent to win, all of those schools that you mentioned have had a marked dropoff in recruiting since the late 90's/early aughts. you can win without coaching but you can't win without talent. and i'd take brewster over a lot of candidates that illinois would attract.
  4. We'll miss his talent. Physically at least, he's a beast. Iowa is in decent shape with another 4 star TE but this dude looks like a freak. Illinois going from being out of the picture a couple months ago to earning his commitment because he thought the coaches were guys he would like to hang out with is fairly odd though. And I would submit that by his junior year the Zooker is out of Champaign. because he gets fired or leaves for another job? the only way i see him getting canned that quickly is for recruiting violations. true. i'd rather the illini have talent than have none but have a great tactical coach. with talent, you always have a shot at winning and your team is generally fun to watch. i don't want to go back to the days of turner, not that he was a great tactical coach, but that's what illinois will get, unless they can lure brewster away from minny.
  5. the illini just stole cj fiedorowicz, the #2 tight end in the country, away from iowa and ohio state. eat it mbc.
  6. He was a very talented basketball player. He played basketball at NU as a walkon and wanted to keep going, but he made the right choice. He had good strength in the lane and great overall athleticism, but wasn't that tall. he was also valedictorian of his high school class.
  7. Thanks for posting that. Ronnie was amazing. I remember how he would be on after the Bulls on the Chicago postgame show. First how the Bulls did and then the Fields highlights. Yup the kid is probably the best high school player Ive ever seen play. Had it not been for that carwreck, the sky was really the limit for him. That Farragut team was ridiculous with him and KG. I really wish he would at least get a taste of the NBA, after all hes been through, it would be a good story. And they lost to Manuel. Manuel was so good. Best high school team ever, imo. actually, i think they lost to harvey-thornton, who then lost to manual. randle el, melvin ely, tai streets, and napoleon harris were on that team.
  8. yeah, the thread was probably from last year, i don't pay attention.

  10. cutler was apparently seen leaving a club with that internet celebrity and super-hot girl julia allison. nice job, jay.
  11. they say 7-0 in shoes.
  12. i've just noticed the buzz that's been forming around meyers leonard. the guy has been quietly transforming into a top player, maybe a top 10 player by the time he graduates high school.
  13. I really respected him until I saw him standing there in that lobby before the match started in that ridiculous outfit. it's not that i don't respect him, it's just that i hate him. but i guess when you're that good at something you can wear whatever you want. he pulled it out this time, but he would have gotten smoked by nadal at 100% yesterday.
  14. they must have been listening to the dennis miller show.
  15. Yes he is. Hey, have you heard any recent news on Wayne Blackshear? I'm hearing rumors that he may have peaked early, and folks are wondering if he's not quite the prospect they once thought he was. blackshear is talented, it's just that there are doubts that he's a guard. he doesn't shoot well, he doesn't guard well, and he absolutely got waxed head-to-head against brandon paul. i don't want him at this point if it means missing out on bradley beal, who self is hot after as well. i don't expect to beat kansas out for a recruit, though, even one that isn't seriously considering them at this point (even though beal is, which just makes it tougher). sam thompson is the player out of that class that we really need. he's the one with the highest ceiling.
  16. i hate federer.
  17. now this is a tradtional wimbledon championship, screw rallies.
  18. federer got lucky with a couple of first service lets that just happened to bounce in. one at 30-30, one at 40-30.
  19. and roddick blows 4 set points in the second. unbelieveable. federer is playing like a guy today and roddick had him on the ropes and just blew an easy volley for the 2 set lead.
  20. Who's he talking about? the first coach that sprung to mind was yours. but it's probably a combination of self, calipari, and calhoun. but seriously, self is dirty as hell. welp, time to forfeit all the illini wins from 2000-2006 i'm gonna go ahead and agree with you. burn the banners and erase deron williams's brain, too.

  22. in his defense, though, denver is pretty terrible.
  23. i told you that an american was guaranteed to be in the finals. i stand by prediction that roddick will beat federer in the finals. i'm not sure how he's going to do it, though.
