  1. henry burris threw the worst pass in the history of the league in 2002 against the vikings i think it was.
  2. Bertrand, Richardson, and Paul all committed early in their junior years within a week of each other. Richmond's the only freshman who's verballed. i don't even think bertrand was an illinois lean in 10th grade. bruce showed up a lot in sterling to see him play, though. it's hard to turn down a guy who has been having dinner with your family since you were 14 years old.
  3. Your clearly just trying to bait us, but I will bite anyways. Illinois is coming out of a down cycle, and we have still made the tournament 9 out of the last 10 years. There is plenty of reason for Illini fans to feel good about upcoming years with the recruiting we have done. So yes I am excited, and no I am not ready to order the banners yet. To touch on a previous point by Sully.... Weber going out and starting the recruiting process with 8th and 9th graders is brilliant as it keeps Illini fans in a constant state of "just a year away" fantasy land. Not that I'm rooting against you guys.....I'd love for just about any Big Ten team to win it all again. i don't know what you think you mean. if illinois keeps getting these kids year after year, then they'll be highly competitive year after year and that will just be the way that it is.
  4. No argument with what you say, except: All this stuff about the defense being so tired. They're too tired, can't get it done. This was never an acceptable excuse before. If they get too tired, then that also means they aren't as good. They used to get it done IN SPITE OF being too tired. it is an acceptable excuse because performace deteriorates the longer a defense spends on the field, no matter who the players are. Also, it wasn't a necessary excuse before because they were so ridiculously good. They aren't as good a defense now. But they are probably better than last year indicated. Give them an above average offense, instead of one that gained the 26th most yards, and it won't have to be an excuse. they're definitely not as good as 05 or 06, but they can look just as good if they spend less time on the field. they still have playmakers. the one thing that kind of worries me is that in years past, the bears' strategy was to force the other team to run as many plays as possible by forcing them to go underneath time after time---a strategy that causes more turnovers. to implement this and to force turnovers, you have to have a fairly fast, young team. the bears may have some speed left, but they're getting older and more fragile.

  6. i love how weber gets criticized when he starts recruiting kids when they're in 8th and 9th grade. it's just bellyaching from slimeball coaches who have gotten used to just walking in at the end of a kid's recruitment and doing whatever they do to get him signed. now, they aren't going to be walking away with those kids as much, so they have to start working for it. this is how weber keeps the scumbags out of illinois and it's been working. the people who complain about this are probably cheaters themselves.
  7. was thinking more along the lines of.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v519/suleyman21/Stalin-Lenin-Kalinin-1919.jpg

  9. killing someone in brazil is the dumbest thing to do. where are you going to flee to, the united states?
  10. lol at bobby knight being an attention whore.
  11. he's said repeatedly that if he goes to the hall, he's wearing the head of a cubs fan wearing a cubs hat.
  12. those little kids have no depth perception at all.
  13. that guy who caught that home run looked like a former child actor.
  14. albert pujols can't spell pants.
  15. i really can't believe that pujols and lance armstrong get their human chromosome therapy at the same planned parenthood clinic.
  16. can't wait for joe mauer to hit again!
  17. Cutler has the skill to make his chances pay off occasionally. Grossman relies almost entirely on prayer. :) it's not really that. it's that grossman is so unconfident in the pocket that he tends to rush his throws. cutler has more confidence and can move around, but likes to throw back across the field, which he CAN do as well as anybody in the game, but when you do that, you tend to throw more picks. cutler int% isn't anything concerning, it was basically the same exact int% as orton has in his career. and orton only got 2 reads and knew who he was throwing to before the snap and generally threw it quickly before the defense had a chance tor eact.
  18. FAT JOKES ARE FUNNY!!!1 And how. no, you misunderstand me. the thing about it is that these jokes are reallly really funny. i honestly want to hear some more of the funny jokes.
