  1. so what changed sveum's mind about waiting for the red sox? did cherington tell him he wasn't being considered or did epstein and hoyer call and remind him that he's dale sveum?
  2. As long as Sveum brings $200MM with him i'm sure ricketts already has that as he kind of owns the chicago cubs.
  3. That was my first question. I really didn't care for Riggins. How about Mike Maddux? :D The leading candidate (and perhaps only) candidate to replace Mike Maddux was BP coach Andy Hawkins. He's highly thought of among the Rangers front office. i remember andy hawkins, he once threw a no-hitter and lost.
  4. that can't be bad for a prospective fielder signing.
  5. the most exciting thing that's ever happened to wisconsin basketball is the 80's haircut that dude has.
  6. Didn't realize Podlesh had been THAT good...wow their net yardage on punts is middle of the pack, but the Bears are significantly rewarded in those rankings because of perceived weather factors i do not understand your hatred of the bears FBO is like the greatest thing to you, but when they mention weather factors it's "perceived" of course
  7. that sirahhh guy is a dope
  8. why on earth would the bears game be blacked out in st. louis?
  9. That can't possibly protect his assets can it? I mean, if that's the case wouldn't everyone facing a losing civil suit just 'gift' all their assets to other people? they're not going to get joe pa's house if they get a civil judgment against him. it makes it harder to get a search warrant on him and gives him enough time to remodel the kiddie porn dungeon in the basement.
  10. insisted upon by joe paterno. it was either allow murder on campus or watch him [expletive] his pants in front of everyone.
  11. ok, no more browns talk.
  12. who's to say paterno didn't take part in the kiddie rape? it seems like he did a lot to have everything covered up. we could change the title to "joe paterno, kiddie rape enabler or rapist himself?"
  13. Gasaway had an interesting point on twitter the other day, tonight is the first game where KU is clearly inferior from a talent perspective in at least 5 years. KU's wizard was killed by harry potter in the off-season. now all they have is their brigade of northeastern gypsies (much less powerful and rare than the southern gypsies employed by kentucky), their stable of texas oil tycoons and the dump trucks full of money. EDIT: and the island.
  14. williams was evolving into a very good guard.
  15. i'm assuming he's claiming to have told the state college police, not the penn state campus police.
  16. A massive coverup would certainly make things worse. yeah, if this goes outside the scope of penn state direct control.....
  17. mcqueary is probably just covering his own ass. if he witnessed a child rape and didn't stop it, he'd most likely be subject to some jail time as well at least one can hope. hey mcqueary, how about smashing in the skull of an old man? would that be too much to ask?
  18. the problem with firing zook is that there's really no one that illinois could get that would be better.
  19. donkeykong's mom, sister don't think he's a dirty player.
  20. That's the worst that can happen. Didn't you hear that Theo wants to change the culture and build a winning team? Don't you remember that Theo says he wants productive players and who have their teammates' back? what is this, west side story?
  21. Hes' so much less offensive than clay matthews and less weirdly hermaphroditic
  22. i'm thoroughly impressed by abrams and bertrand.
  23. i;ve never seen rodgers fumble like that
  24. but seriously, that run was about as hester-like as anyone else i've ever seen, it was catch, run diagonally, cut, make the first person miss, daylight.
