[expletive]. he's won 2 tourney games in 6 years (and that's being generous and counting dee and augie's last year on the team), his predecessor had won 6 in 3 years. all told, we won 13 tournament games in the 5 years preceding this craptastic failure. he couldn't ride a prevailing wave that could have cemented illinois as a major power in college basketball for years. he's got people like you pointing to his overall record, skewed greatly by his first 2 years, and claiming that beating teams like coppin state is something to be proud of. weber has failed, he's a failure, let's admit it and call it what it is and stop hoping that he can just pull it together. the job is a very good job, a second tier job, but a job that could be first tier with the right hire. as i've said, chris mack is about ripe for the picking, get him before someone else does. right the wrong we committed when we passed over matta.

i was never very passionate regarding zook's coaching tenure. i figured the football program has been so mediocre through the years, the best we could hope for is a decent year here and there, maybe a rose bowl appearance every 10 or so years. but illinois is a basketball school, and i'm not really willing to waste any more years on a bad team.

Ok, but we didn't. I mean, yeah, I get it, you hate the defense first style that Weber employs, but it's not going to change. Does it really need to be rehashed during every game? I started this by asking why two top 60 kids from Chicago couldn't get any tick. Other top 60 kids from Chicago are contributing on great teams. See Boatwright. I think this is a huge problem with our program. It got morphed into the style of play. I'd start giving those two Sam and Tylers minutes tho. i agree with you, weber's had his chance and he'll be gone after the season short of a sweet sixteen appearance.

Who do you want on the bench? I wanna play a faster tempo. And Sam, he's terrible. Brandon Paul can barely handle playing at this pace. brandon has trouble tying his shoes, he sure can take it to the hoop.

pretty much ryne smith is the definition of chucker. he can and does literally nothing but throw up 3-point shots. he can barely dribble.

why not, two high end prospects for a guy that would slot in as the #2 in that rotation and be an ace of many others while still being under team control for 2 years? why are we undervaluing garza? people are overthinking this compensation for garza, he's going to bring a lot, a lot. Exactly. He either brings back what you want or you don't move him. It's just that simple. correct, we'll just have to keep him on the team where he'll be our ace for the next 5 years. boo hoo.

It's too bad, everyone involved would be better off with a change. Most of all Weber. weber could go back to dominating the mid-major landscape and occassionally making tourney runs with bradley or arkansas-little rock or louisiana tech and leave real coaching for actual coaches.
