  1. that's how you do it. you take these slow mother [expletive] to the hoop every time until they love you
  2. i can't fathom breaking 40 tonight
  3. I don't understand what's happened to him. He's a shell of the kid that was the foty. he's a jumpshooter and he always has been
  4. if these white bitches are going to overguard you, take their slow asses to the hoop
  5. note even close to a good shot and paul is getting rid of the ball as soon as he gets it
  6. 5 minutes since a basket. weber ball has them right where it wants them
  7. not even close to a good shot
  8. ok, so they're just going to let purdue hammer our faces all night
  9. why do illini players kill the dribble for no reason all the time?
  10. bruce weber was doing his impression of a guy having a really bad interview.
  11. tom crean is kept alive by a steady diet of liquefied pond lichen.
  12. Well, that certainly isn't true. Thanks Ron Guenther, Thad wasn't ready for a big gig...... Was Matta interviewed when they hired Weber? RG was always very secretive, to this day i don't think anyone knows who all was interviewed for the job. matta was the favorite of many people and the illini undoubtedly could have had him.
  13. yes, we are
  14. Well, that certainly isn't true. yeah, like skittlebrau, i think he must have dreamed it
  15. if he's contantly trailing his man and committing hilariously awkward-looking turnovers then he need not even suit up. i like him, but he's just not ready to take minutes away from bertrand yet.
  16. with carimi and adams as bookends, and williams at LG, the line would have its core for many years.
  17. even though whitney mercilus had his way with him in the illini game.
  18. if we could trade up into the top of the 2nd and get a WR, i'd be satisfied with that.
  19. one thing that i like is that Mike Thomas is spamming Chicago radio big time. he seems to be committed to owning the city.
  20. Is that how it works? Any salary earned as a coach is deducted from the buyout? Depends on the contract, but from what I've read that is the case with Webers contract. so, essentially, he wouldn't have to resign for us to get some money back? that's nice.
  21. they can afford the 3.9 lump sum required to buy out weber's contract, pay williams 5 million next year and still have money to burn. money's not going to be an object to MT. but it's interesting how your argument has changed. first it was he wouldn't want illinois and now it's illinois wouldn't want him. ok. My argument is that its a lateral move. If you're going to 'back up the dump truck' there aren't many people that are going to say no to crazy money. If you would like to wager on Illinois paying Buzz $3M per, or $5M per I would be willing to take your money. 2.5 would be more than enough to get williams and that's less than what matta gets. sure, it's a lot of money, but illinois can and will pay whatever they have to to get the right guy. for the record, i'd prefer shaka to williams and it would only take about 1.5 to get him. if weber resigns and takes a more suitable job with less stress, they won't even have to buy him out.

  23. illinois basketball is about 3 times more profitable than Marquette. they have a lot of money to spend and can most likely up the ante a significant amount, an amount that marquette couldn't match without taking the risk of running their cash cow into the red. How many coaches are paid more than Williams now? I mean, if you're going to throw another 500k to a million at him and put him in the top five paid coaches in the land, more power to you. That's a little crazy though. why would that be crazy? you can't expect someone to leave a good job without a decent raise. while it would be impossible for marquette to match any raise, it wouldn't hurt the illini at all, and the money invested in the coach would most likely be returned every penny in revenue.
