  1. the sd feed is back up
  2. i also like to pronounce his name as luscious.
  3. top 5 running back? saying it doesn't make it so. and i'm not understanding the difference between being replaceable and not being that good. forte is not close to being a top 5 running back so he shouldn't be paid like it. being "not that good" could absolutely mean that someone is replaceable. it could also mean that forte isn't as good as people think he is compared to other running backs and not worthy of a huge long-term deal. that's not a huge stretch in logic. the idea that he is replaceable means that his numbers and production could be found easily elsewhere. hence, he's not that good.
  4. lose to minnesota. even though i'll still hope they win. i want the weber era to end asap. then we'll know where we stand with the players and recruits. I was talking about Northwestern. We're playing Iowa in the 8-9 game. good point.

  8. yeah, running backs in general are replaceable unless you get a truly special back like AP or barry sanders. i really like lesean mccoy, too, you can actually see the value he adds on the field in the way he runs. i don't like drafting them high or signing them to huge contracts. it's an incredible waste of money.
  9. Of all Kaplan's "ideas", that might just be the worst. i would be very disappointed as an illini fan, but heckling tadowdaddy into hiding would be well worth it.
  10. lol according to dvoa and dyar, he's not even top 30. i think he's like 36 and 40 respectively. that doesn't adjust for run blocking, but that can't account for such terrible rankings. forte is replaceable.
  11. Former Illinois doctors. (seriously, I'm going to start a rant if another of our doctors moves to Texas) isn't health care super-crooked in texas? like the doctors own all of the diagnostics labs or something?
  12. forte is not really that good.
  13. what do you mean by young? gregg marshall is shooting up my list and is now firmly planted at #2. he doesn't have far to go to supplant shaka in the top spot. but marshall is almost 50 and so is grant. those guys would be safer bets and less likely to leave. but being young certainly helps out on the recruiting trail.
  14. first of all, if the bears' line was so terrible, the saints shouldn't have needed to blitz. i read somewhere that gregg williams's defense actually rushes 3 more than any defense in the nfl. second of all, blitzing when you're up a bajillion points in the 4th is just a bitch move and you're trying to hurt people. that's copletely ignoring the fact that bennett was hit in the chest by a helmet and cutler was kicked in the head. The Saints blitzed more than any other team in football last year. yes? i don't see how that stops them from rushing 3 more than any other team. I would be very curious to see your arithmetic on how a defense could lead the league in rushing 3 and blitzing at the same time. Edit: That's strange. This article says the Saints blitzed on a higher percentage of dropbacks than any other team: http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2011/story/_/id/7446379/2012-nfl-playoffs-san-francisco-49ers-ready-time-blitz-happy-new-orleans-saints I wonder if that stat is based on bringing more than 4 or bringing at least one more than there are men left to protect. because a lot of 3-4 teams rush 4 (which i don't know if that's considered a blitz) and a lot of 4-3 teams rush 4?

  17. anthony adams was on the score saying he'd never heard of anything like this happening. Um, Buddy Ryan did it. buddy ryan also took a swing at an offensive coordinator during a game and had a green, green prostate by the time adams came into the league. i doubt adams even knows who that is.
  18. at least the big 12 dudes have a discussion with more than one person going, no matter how lame and boring.
  19. ok, that's enough from big 12 country.
  20. anthony adams was on the score saying he'd never heard of anything like this happening.
  21. And Cutler this year. Blitzing relentlessly with a double digit lead late. Or it could be that the Saints run a blitz-heavy defense and the Bears line was godawful that game. of course you're going to defend the saints. but that doesn't really address what raw was saying.
  22. hearing some stuff about stripping the saints of their franchise tag in 2012. uh oh
  23. i was commenting on the issue. don't be so defensive.
  24. He didn't destroy the Patriots for SpyGate and that was straight up cheating so I dunno what he'll do to the Saints, but obviously with the NFL so concerned lately with concussions and all that the punishment definitely won't be light. "hey, i'll give you $1,000 if you go low at his knees and end his career." sounds like some cowardly disgusting stuff to me. no place for that in football, give them the chair.
  25. Weber'd be there in 3 weeks if Lowery wasn't a Weber guy. so does painter fire a couple assistants, then?
