  1. he guarded lebron in game 1 in the playoffs and then they went away from it.
  2. i'd like to see asik guard lebron for a full game.
  3. manningham would just be a knox replacement, not a serious #1 receiver. i would hate for emery to come back to jay with a garbage solution like that.
  4. there's just not another guy out there like jackson, and jay needs a big guy that can get open.
  5. that's pretty far-fetched. though i would be mad. it would suck for those players a lot, though, if they want to win a title anytime soon.
  6. thyey are 31.1 under at this moment, i believe. edit: ok, didn't realize they made those cuts today. but i don't think that puts them at almost 40 mil.
  7. it is simply not feasible for them to split it in any other way but 50/50 and still be able to field a 53-man roster next season. they would have to cut a lot of players and restructure others. the other question is, do they have enough time to figure out what they'll have in regards to cap room by 3 pm tomorrow? at the very least, they won't be able to blow jackson away with the offer that they were threatening.
  8. I have no idea how Washington's financial structure is, but it seems like cutting $36 million in salary during one offseason is basically suicide. $36 million is close to 30% of the cap this year. Going into the season with a rookie QB, do you think Washington thinks this year is the year to "go for it"? Are they sure the pieces are in place? Because if they aren't, and Washington doesnt get to the SB or even make the playoffs, its going be a huge disaster for them, and they will have to gut a significant portion of the team. If the Redskins were really willing to take the entire hit in 1 season, I'd guess it would be this season, so they can let Griffin play under low expectations and then get him a ton of help next offseason. Most likely though, they will probably do $18 and $18 or something close to that. Taking that much off their cap space makes it very unlikely that they spend most of it on 1 player, especially considering they just completely gutted their draft. Edit: I should say that gutting their draft is both a good thing and a bad thing given this news. It's a good thing because they will have more money to spend for FAs given that they don't have to spend the money on draft picks, but its obviously a bad thing because they will have a difficult time splurging on 1 premier player in FA, without the ability to upgrade the team via the draft as well. The Redskins are better than their record last year, but I don't think there's a chance in hell that they are 1-2 players away from competing for the Super Bowl. They still have a first round draft pick this year, so they still have to put out some big money in the draft. RG3 is gonna need a big contract to go along with the pressure Washington just put on him to be good asap. he's one of the best talents in any draft in the last 10 years, the redskins mortgaged everything to get him--he's going to want a signing bonus, a huge one.
  9. so they're going to go all out and try to win the super bowl with a rookie quarterback and then cut every player on their team except jackson and rgIII?
  10. also, there's no way that they can restructure multiple contracts or make hasty cuts before free agency open. looks like jackson just lost a suitor, lowering his price significantly, most likely.
  11. haha, some of the posters over there want to take the full 36 next year and go for it in free agency, don't they realize that they won't be able to field a team if they do that?
  12. no, like a normal human being, i just didn't notice missouri Sorry, your follow ups aren't going to work either. Better luck next time champ. lots of people like andy say things like this about me
  13. #3 is probably something really big like intangibles. 3) aggressively running the bases. 3) Productive outs. Collect underpants. we get it, reading is boring
  14. no, like a normal human being, i just didn't notice missouri
  15. i got a good argument going with brad biggs. he's saying that chicago wouldn't be a preferred destination for VJ. called it where wrs go to die.
  16. well, missouri pretty much blew the only chance at a #1 seed they'll ever get. nice job.
  17. now that's just silly
  18. those [expletive] gave up that goal very begrudgingly, the whole team was in the net there.
  19. we beat the redskins out for peppers a couple of years ago, everyone knows it's a graveyard for free agents. jackson's never been to or won a super bowl, he can either come to chicago for crazy money and compete for a title, or he can go to washington, play with a rookie quarterback, lose a lot of games while the skins have no picks and make super duper crazy money. i doubt he'll want to play in washington.
  20. i'm never going to see sam maniscalco play for us again how sad
  21. clay nurse was our starting strong-side DE before mercilus.
  22. it's called getting a chance and making the most of it.
  23. yeah, but vjack and mcneill, + mercilus in the first beats all of that.
  24. also, the big east commissioner looks like arli$$
  25. this game is about as exciting as watching andy talk about notre dame.
