  1. How is he going to fit in that backcourt with Conley and Mayo? In theory, he's an improvement and a bargain over what they had behind them last year. But that goes out the window if he sets the young guards back.
  2. Truth, OMC. The polls are supposed to be an assessment of which teams are the best and in which order, not which teams are good relative to how good we thought they were last week tempered by results from this week. Rarely do people vote like that, though.
  3. Not watching the game...what's this about?
  4. Insert joke about how she deserved it for being Tila Tequila here. Everybody treaded Merriman's steroid suspension like it was an injury or something...I wonder if anybody's gonna care about this.
  5. virginia begs to differ. Haha. Well, I'm mostly going based on last year's results.
  6. Is the ACC really horrid? They don't have elite teams, but they don't have extremely weak teams either. They're loded with pretty decent teams...at least they were last year.
  7. Yeah, but it's been like that for a minute.
  8. They're playing Missouri State right? They should win by 40. I went to school there for awhile and didn't even have the heart to watch a game. Missed by 2. :( The Hogs looked pretty sharp on offense. It's kind of funny that Michael Smith only had 4 carries, but they're going to be spreading the carries around a lot. Gotta love Ryan Mallett playing one game for the Razorbacks, and they set a school record in passing yards. Two weeks from now should be entertaining. Arkansas looks to have an awesome offense and a suspect defense. Georgia looks to have an awesome defense and a suspect offense.
  9. What a crazy season, already. I can't wait to watch, er, follow along with gamecast the Razorbacks tonight. I feel oddly good about them, in spite of their absurd schedule. They should have one of the best offenses in the nation.
  10. The best part is that his top receiver from high school followed him to Arkansas, and then to USC...and Damien Williams is their top receiver and a possible first round pick as soon as 2010. Meanwhile, Mustain can't get on the field. Plus, the 5 star quarterback who would have gone to Arkansas had Mustain not been there--Ryan Mallett--ended up there anyway and is starting.
  11. Well, how about this: Dolphins just traded Andy Alleman and Ike Ndukwe to KC for an undisclosed draft pick. That's great news for the Dolphins. Last season, when Donald Thomas got hurt in game 1, Ike started every game at right guard and was basically space filler. When LG Justin Smiley went down in week 12, it was Andy Alleman who took over the rest of the season. Neither was projected to start this year with Thomas and Smiley back, but if they're completely dispensable, that's a great sign for the health and depth of the Dolphins' line this year. They must be quite impressed with Shawn Murphy and Joe Berger.
  12. Awesome...2 members of the Dolphins secondary had the flu and missed today's game. On the plus side, Vontae Davis started and had a great game after having a very poor game 1. I really wanted to see Sean Smith do his thing, though. :(
  13. True. I mean, if a person is dumb enough to think that a team championship in a game with 22 starters is the primary determining factor in a single player's greatness, this isn't going to change their mind.
  14. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nflnation/0-10-105/Research-shows-Marino-should-be-Comeback-King.html This isn't riveting or shocking to anybody who was paying attention...been saying the same thing for years. Even that standard is arbitrary, considering how much can happen over the course of a quarter of football.
  15. So what happens with Rudy?
  16. I don't get why the Clippers wanted Richardson. How does that help? Randolph is a weirdo and all, but he's still a 20-10 guy, and you got back...Q-Rich? Okay... it probably has something to do with blake griffin and the fact that z-bo is fat, lazy, expensive and a defensive liability. I didn't say I didn't get why they traded Randolph. I just have a hard time seeing how Richardson, aside from contract, helps the Clippers at all, and I suspect they could have gotten more for him--or at least different.

  18. Lakers - '85, '87, '88, '00,'01,'02,'09 Razorbacks (basketball) - '94 Oilers - '87, '88, '90
  19. The loss of Wilford and his 3 catches last year would be huge. Allen's a former first rounder who's never been able to find a set position in a mediocre secondary thas has had injury issues. He's played okay in stretches, but it'd be even harder for him to fit in now, considering the dolphins just signed a safety and a corner, then drafted two corners (in the first two rounds) and a safety.
  20. Joe Alexander?
  21. Well, if Stiffler coudln't do it this year, my guess is he never will. :(
  22. NBA Finals 2009: Ghost of Shaq Edition.
  23. I think you don't understand the word "overrated."
  24. So, I'm pretty excited about Jason Taylor coming back to the Dolphins. The Dolphins have made huge strides toward improving their defense...I'm starting to relent a bit on my prediction that they'd be better this year, but with a worse record.
