  1.        x infinity. Whatever, I don't see how you can defend him, he's not a good fielder. Today's game not withstanding, the attacks on his defense are VASTLY overdone. VASTLY. That's just ridiculous. He's one of the worst 2B at turning the double play. I'm tired of the argument about his fielding percentage because that doesn't tell the story. He doesn't get to most balls and, again, he usually doesn't position himself well enough to turn the DP which is crucial for his position. His reputation is well earned (and judging by the Cubs inability to move him in the offseason, other teams feel that his offense does not outweigh his defensive miscues). NEVIN! Walker's offense isn't that good either He doesn't provide a spark like Neifi. He doesn't provide ANYTHING PERIOD. He sucks as an overall ballplayer. He and his brother in law can play catch for all I care. And he certainly doesn't provide a spark like neifi.

Find me one argument for his fielding that was solely based on his FPCT.
  4. I will give you that. Other than allowing a record number of runs in an inning and causing the remainder of the game to be irrelevant, they have done a fine job in the remaining irrelevant innings.
  5. ..and maybe the last time as a Cubs player. HopefullyI would make a better general manager than Jim Hendry, sicne I would call for that!
  6. You must have a large lawn. The inning took forever.
  7. it might be replayed overnight or you can download it from cubs.com for about $4 Why pay $4 when the Cubs will surely give us another gem on Tuesday? who do we play on tuesday? houston
  8. The airspace over Wrigley is restricted before/during/after games. Your best move would be to pay a rooftop company to drape a huge banner.

  10. Also Joe Morgan says the take-home message of this inning is that defense matters. True?
  11. 11 runs in one inning courtesy of two grand slams and a two run homer. i think your math is off
  12. Haha. I'd completely forgotten there was a game, and turned it on just in time to see random trash being thrown off the field, and then it went to commercial. Any reason to keep it on through the commercial?
  13. Awesome. Roma gets to play in the champs league, and has an inside track for the scudetto for next year and probably several more after that, considering their main competition is Inter, and Inter always screws it up. The only bad part is that my favorite games to watch were Roma-Lazio and Roma-Juve. All the bad blood made most of those games great.
  14. Well the Cuse/Iowa series starts up this fall. You'll get to see another one of those teams up close. We used to do really well against Big 10 teams until the last Purdue game...yikes. I'm looking forward to the Iowa and Northwestern series we have coming up. As for top team, who did Penn State lose? I thought they had a heck of a team too. Penn State lost its QB, and most of the O-line, D-line and secondary
  15. Soon. When I first looked at this it said 'you should come out with one'. Now it says soon and it wasn't edited. Am I going crazy? Yes
  16. Soon.
  17. I am moderately interested but not emotionally invested.
  18. I'm here! Hooray, Cubs game! Oh wait, neifi's hitting. Cya guys.
  19. I thought this was true as well. I've flipped between ESPN and Univision during moments of the match and the feed is exactly the same. Not true. A friend of mine has been in Costa Rica for the last week or so, and he's seen other feeds simultaneously, because apparently Costa Rican TV apparently loves to use multiple split frame TV. Apparently (he looked into this), there are three feeds sent out, and networks can choose between any of them.
  20. Much like baseball, analysts who have no idea what they're talking about. Oh, and some people aren't happy with some of the PBP guys(O'Brien especially) because they haven't done much/any soccer before, and it shows. Seems rather petty, considering their main job is getting the rest of America to pay any sort of attention to the sport. What is their other option, to hire a bunch of premier league guys whom Americans won't understand? There isn't exactly a rich supply of American soccer broadcasters. Here's a good article about why it sucks
  21. You mean three shutout at-bats. They each count separate, that's how you get to 75%. I did the math earlier... where's my slide rule?
  22. Beckenbauer just backed Klinsmann to stay
  23. Wow. Italy dominated that game and looked stronger as the match went on. I've been very critical of Italy's coach (as you guys may have noticed) but he pulled all the right strings today. Gilardino (an obvious one), Iaquinta and Del Piero were inspired subs, and to not pull Totti when he inserted Del Piero (although I would imagine it was for PK purposes more than anything else) was a fantastic move, as the two of them just sliced up the German defense toward the end.
