  1. This post was supposed to read "I hate Dusty Baker."
  2. It's been sucking around Belmont recently.
  3. Also I'd like to note that the guy behind Tony (UMFan83) in the group picture, in the Lee jersey, is the guy who... A) wore a rally cap even though the Cubs were leading going into the ninth, the moron. B) got angry at us for booing Dusty and Neifi continuoously. C) was generally upset that we referred to this season as various synonyms for "poop." D) got bitchy after the game, and then when Tony told him to suck it, got in Tony's face and told him to "Go wear a White Sox jersey" and that he shouldn't question Dusty "because he's the manager." E) sucks the most.
  4. I totally agree with you. He was an embarrassment out there. Congrats to La France.
  5. Germany over Argentina Italy over Ukraine Brazil over France England over Portugal Germany over Italy Brazil over England Brazil over Germany
  6. Update because I'm up to 56th place with an ESPN of 278
  7. I have a screencap, but it didn't turn out well, it's all blurry. I'll post it if you really want.
  8. He wasn't asked to remove it. He put it back up when Jones whiffed to end the game.
  9. Didn't watch the game. What was the tirade? If you didn't watch the game, you won't be able to appreciate the things that were said nearly as much. There have been a lot of bad games this year, but the Sunday game ranks #1 in futility. Todd Walker and Phil Nevin stood motionless as a ball slowly skipped right between them into RF. Since neither player touched the ball, an error was not charged. However, it should have been a double error. The Jacque Jones throw to Henry Blanco should not have been charged as an error to Jacque, but it was anyway. It was a short hop (first bounce) about a foot in front of Blanco's glove. Since this is about the first time Jacque got a ball to roll all the way to the catcher this year, it's a shame that he got charged for an error. Murton had a line drive base hit smack him in the bread basket, which allowed 2 runners to take an extra base. Juan Pierre threw a ball home from shallow centerfield that couldn't even clear the mound. Neifi botched what should have been an easy double play. Not only did he bobble the ball, but he was backing up rather than attacking the ball. Neifi tossed a ball at Aramis sidearmed/underhand that was nowhere near the mark, which allowed a runner to score and everyone else to be safe and move up a base. If that wasn't enough, the Cubs bats were shut out by +5 ERA junkballer, Brad Radke. All of this on the day that Derrek Lee returned. The day that everyone seemed to be waiting for. There was no fire. There was no care. Everyone was a zombie out there, proving that whether Derrek is in the line up or not, this team is not going anywhere. We didn't need this proof, but apparently Hendry and Dusty did. Worst game of the year in a year full of horrible games should have been the final bell for Hendry and his cronies. A knockout punch was scored that day, but instead of a 10 count, Hendry is getting a 50,000 count. Let's give Hendry another extension today. Let's make it lifelong. It makes about as much sense as the last extension. Wow. Thanks for the recap, and I sure am glad I missed this game. I can't remember the last time a team has lacked fundamentals the way this team does. The amazing part is that he left some stuff out. For example, later on in the game Ruben Sierra hit a fly ball to short left that Murton misjudged and went back on initially before coming in. Neifi had gone out from short, but gave up on the ball figuring that Murton was able to get to it, since he never actually looked and saw Murton just starting to come in, having gone back. neifi stopped running, Murton ran, but not very hard at first because he figured Neifi was tracking it, and the ball landed five feet from both a late-charging Murton and an almost stationary Neifi.
  10. The Steelers
  11. Fixed^2 Fixed^3
  12. I really enjoyed that guy from the Ukraine hitting "il cucchiaio" today and then shushing the Swiss fans. Only good part of that entire game.
  13. Example: Totti's PK today.
  14. Agreed! i tried to screencap it, but it didn't turn out
  15. I really enjoyed the guy with the Fire Dusty sign behind home plate at the end there.
  16. 4 in a row and 11 of our last 13 Edit: oops
  17. 2B isn't the problem tonight. We've gotten 3 for 4 from that spot. However, it would be nice if the middle of the lineup was hitting... it would also help if we didn't...you know...suck.
  18. I guess BP doesn't actually watch games. BP isn't the greatest, but they're at least as good as any of our hazy recollections. Again, he's not a hack by any stretch. If BP said he is gold glove caliber, then I will state they have never watched a game. No one else in the world would say he is gold glove caliber. I think he has a fine future, but he is slumping and until he gets some success he will compund the slump. Sitting for a while is a good thing, not a bad thing. Back to BP, how can you honestly give credibility to a publication that says he is gold glove caliber? You need to read closely. According to BP's fielding statistics, Murton is doing very well defensively. Having referenced it multiple times, I concluded that a rate of 117 would probably rank him among the top left fielders, aka gold glove caliber. It's not based off anything BP said, just the metric that they provide. And again, I've already said that BP isn't a great measure, but it's not so poor as to completely disregard, especially when it finds something contrary to what we think it should be. I think PMR from Baseball Musings is much better, as is the BTF(that ranked Murton middle of the pack defensively, not a hindrance to the defense) link I provided before. Hyperbole railing against BP isn't going to help anything, no matter how excited you were to find something from them you found ridiculous. C'mon man. Numbers...abbreviations...links to other websites with more statistics...what is THAT crap?
  19. You need to rearrange your thermometer, since the Wood reinjury has already happened, and we'll probably be swept by the Sox before Baker is extended.
  20. Apparently the average lifespan of a major league baseball is 5 pitches, but during Nevin's last AB it was 1 pitch, as Nevin continuously fouled balls off, and his black bat apparently leaves marks on the ball.
  21. You wanna give us some highlights for those of us listening to the radio ? Len and Bob are so sure that the Cubs will do nothing exciting when batting that their tracking th lifespans of various baseballs used during the game, and are detailing which bags they come out of and go into, and which of those bags end up being batting practice balls for the following day. They stopped last inning, though.
  22. I am thoroughly enjoying the Len and Bob "life of a baseball" show.
