And he put his money on his own team. It wasn't like he was throwing games or anything. That part doesn't matter. You don't want managers getting in debt to gambling sharks. Gambling for your team is just as bad as anything else. If he got in the hole to them, he could be convinced to fix the spread or something like that without actually betting against his own team. That said, I say let him in as a player, keep the ban on him as a manager in place. Not only let shoeless Joe in, but give him a full pardon, which is the right thing to do. And screw the Hall for still not letting Santo in, so I really don't care one way or the other anymore anyways.
