  1. All I can say about this series is "Wow." What's the line on game 7? I'm going to go out on a limb and say "Boston by 0"
  2. i still can't get over it. you have a franchise LT in Oher and DT in Jerry fall in your laps at 20 and you opt for a luxury position in TE. now they're still stuck starting Jeff Backus and Chuck Darby. Delmas would be acceptable if they didn't already use 2nd rounders the last two years with Gerald Alexander and Bullocks. so now Paris Lenon stays put. a team ridden with pressing holes did virtually nothing to patch up any of them, save maybe QB. nasty. If you go 0-16, there's no excuse for taking a tight end in the first round of the draft. The guy might be a hall of famer, but if you have so many holes on your team that you went 0-16, you don't take a tight end in the first round. Period. Why not? They're not filling all their holes this year anyway, so why not fill some of the holes with the best players there. I'll agree that taking Pettigrew over Oher is a bit baffling, but it's not the difference between them competing this year or not. It's a 2-3 year process that Schwartz is undergoing and I think he drafted that way. Like it was mentioned earlier...it's a luxury position. You don't go for luxury when you have that much to fix. Doesn't matter if they don't think they'll compete this year, you're not going to fix yourself as quick as you can by going luxury. They've got a new franchise QB. If I were them, I'd have put more into the line to protect him so he doesn't get rattled, possibly lose his confidence, and get ruined after his rookie year. The TE pick for the Lions at 20 was just stupid stupid stupid no matter how you cut it. Then when you consider the alternatives that were out there (aforementioned Oher namely), it magnifies how dumb it was.
  3. He could be weighing options between a couple of different teams. It's better to go undrafted than at the bottom of the 7th round.
  4. Not that that is saying much, but I totally agree.

  6. Afalava scouting report so, basically Mike Brown. If he's a durable Mike Brown, then I love it.
  7. What a day...Bears with a great 2nd day of the draft, Bulls pull out a double-ot victory, Cubs are hammering the Cardinals finally...life is good today.
  8. Remember that game when everyone thought the game winning shot would be set up for Jordan to take, but instead they tossed it into Bill Wennington for the easy dunk? Or was it Luke Longly?
  9. Bulls Celts going down to the wire if anyone cares...
  10. Didn't umm...see that one coming... Does he come with wee man or any of the other jacka** show members?
  11. Duke...Duke...Duke...
  12. I wouldn't give up too much to move up. Karma's on their side right now as far as the right players falling to their pick, I wouldn't screw with it.
  13. I think they gotta give Vasher one more chance. It wasn't that long ago he was a very good player.
  14. if he falls just 35 more picks... It happened to Moore... Just sayin...[/teasing Vance]
  15. Nice. 2 of the last 3 picks were who everyone hoped they would pick, both guys who fell farther than they should have. That makes up a little for reaching so high on Melton.
  16. My money's on OG or DB. I can't see them taking another DE. WR isn't impossible, but that'd be the darkhorse. I don't think there's any WRs available that are worthy of this pick.
  17. If the Bulls win, it'll soften the blow for the day.
  18. Is it possible they view Melton as a LB? Some teams were looking at him as a potential LB, which he played in HS.
  19. After reading this, I stand corrected. I thought he was a late 4th to mid 5th pick. I knew the Bears would pick him eventually, as they loved him at the Texas pro day. But yeah, they coulda waited til the 5th most likely. It sounds like the guy MIGHT justify using that pick on him, but still...they could have taken someone else and got him later. He'd easily still be there on our next pick for sure.
  20. I think NY would have snagged him instead of a TE if he were still on the board.
  21. Melton would have been there in the 5th. Some draft boards had him going in the 6th. Way too high. Where are they going to have him play, LB or end?
  22. I hate Stephen McGee too. The papers have been reporting this for a couple of weeks, but I tried to just ignore it. Good God, as bad as Johnson and the other guy were at backup last year, they had to take someone. But the Cowboys have Kitna at back-up this year. So this guy is guaranteed to be the number three QB and will need to beat out Bollinger for that. I think Dallas will deal Kitna as soon as some other team's QB goes down with an injury and needs a semi-competent starter.
  23. Other than getting fleeced by the Jets, yeah, not too bad.
  24. Uh. If Iglesias is Derrick Mason, this will end up being an outrageous steal. If they would have taken him with their normal second pick instead of trading down, I wouldn't have been terribly disappointed. It's absolutely an outrageous steal. I can't believe he survived the run on WRs they had there for a second.
