  1. If one or the other is 100% healthy, yes. Both of them out...no.
  2. Based on last year, good things happen when Z fights with teammates. I say bring it on.
  3. I'm usually more of a Lou defender than a critic, but letting him keep pitching after walking the bases loaded, that was the no-brainer time to take him out.
  4. Nice cover up. We all know Yost kicked him in the Jimmy. ;)
  5. Milton Bradley: .448/.586/1.034 He loses points for being a DH mostly though. ARod is putting up a rather pedestrian .394/.580/.974 while turning in arguably his best defensive performance ever at 3B. It's always tough to overlook a catcher putting up Mauer's numbers. Aubrey Huff is outhitting him by a good margin as well. Pedroia should finish top 10 in the voting, but shouldn't be any higher than maybe #5 at most. I'd at least have him behind the above mentioned guys.
  6. If you would have quoted that lineup 6 months ago, we would have all said "there's your answer."
  7. I would think the number's closer to 100, maybe 1000.
  8. Wow...good find!
  9. Yost must have gotten word that they lost the appeal on the one hit in CCs game, and kicked Sheets in the nuts on accident in frustration.
  10. This is bad if you're hoping someone can rise up and keep AZ out of the playoffs.
  11. I have official fitted home and road caps. I like my road cap better.
  12. When it rains, the Cubs don't get wet. The rain gets Cubd.
  13. Aramislam sounds like a religion with alot of potential.
  14. Everyone find a stat that surprises you and post it here. Here's mine: Matt Holliday has 25 stolen bases, only been caught once so far this year. I was shocked when I saw that.
  15. I'm extremely patriotic, and I can't even begin to fathom how on earth this makes sense...legally, morally, ethically, or just by plain old common sense. :banghead: :banghead:
  16. Seattle in 2001. Their run differential was +300. Lou's Mariners, that is...
  17. Luckiest teams in all of baseball, by pythagorean? LAA is +9 games over what they should be, and the Rays are +7.
  18. Let us out loud that they aren't like the '03 Marlins in any other aspects. :-# They didn't fire their manager mid-season.
  19. I hope this ends badly for Boras and co. One thing I don't understand...how are these guys affiliated with the MLBPA, and why is the union filing a grievance for them? These guys have never paid a single due to the union. Normally you have to be a dues-payer before the union will take your case. This action doesn't and can't help existing major leaguers, I would think they would want to pick their fights on issues that affect guys already in the league. Plus, the proliferation of ridiculous bonuses to draftees means less money for major leaguers. Most of the guys who are currently on 40 man rosters haven't ever seen $6 mil. Why the MLBPA would get involved in filing a grievance on behalf of a guy who isn't part of the union to the detriment of those that are is beyond me.
  20. I think some of you guys are totally missing the point on this article. The point of the article isn't to highlight that there are people who hate the cubs. Basically, the writer is making a case to support his opinion that all of the haters (the few of them that there are) are irrational, there's no rational reason to hate the cubs. He's not slamming Ryno because three people hate him or anything like that at all.
  21. Gooz gets Howry's spot first.
  22. 23-6 over the last month, with just over a month to go...
  23. They're not playing like it though. I'm crossing my fingers but not holding my breath.
  24. Never been to Florida or Arizona's park, but Atlanta and Colorado fans hate every other teams fans in their park. Atlanta has maybe the worst fans in baseball. With all of the talk about tourists who don't care about baseball filling wrigley field, doesn't that seem to contradict the fact that we have amazing numbers of actual fans going to watch the game at every other park in the league?
