  1. Manny. But seriously, Andy Barkett from Boston or Jeff Albert from Houston would be the leading candidates I'd want (I'd probably rank Albert 1st).
  2. Honestly, if it wasn't for Braun and Hader, I wouldn't mind the Brewers winning.
  3. Manny.
  4. he was an angels coach and the angels need a new manager. They will mutually agree to part ways. That's it, trade him to the Angels for Trout! But seriously, I think he can be traded just like a player...but I'm not sure. EDIT: Unless something has changed recently, yes he can.
  5. I don't know if I can see Maddon being just straight up fired if they do decide to make a change. It's possible that he'll either "retire" or be promoted into a front office role. It wouldn't necessarily surprise me if the front office and Maddon are having a philosophy difference. Mallee was the front office's guy and matched their philosophy on hitting: working the count, long at bats. Chili seems to be Maddon's guy, use all fields. Maddon got his guys this year, and the record really hides a very flawed team and approach.
  6. Well there's the shocking one, I guess.
  7. A's Rockies Indians Barves Red Sox Stros Yankees Dodgers Death Brewers
  8. Scioscia is the first to go, announcing that he is stepping down as manager of the Angels after 19 seasons, which is an amazingly long time for being a manager. Other teams that are or may be making changes (besides the Cubs): Toronto - already fired Gibbons Cincinnati - hasn't made a decision on Riggleman yet Baltimore - Showalter probably gone Texas - Banister out That's probably it baring anything shocking. Edit: And the shocking happened: Minnesota - Molitor fired
  9. Smart, the Cubs are going to blow it, that way they get a day off before facing the loser of the Dogdgers/Rockies!
  10. Things make a lot more sense if you realize that Joe really does not care what happens. Maddon got his WS ring, and checked out. Back in '15 and '16, he was a hands off manager, but there were still things you could point at as being involved. Last year and this year, it seems like he's gone from hands off to not involved at all. You look at some of his answers in interviews, and wonder what his job is. I keep thinking of the scene in Office Space where Tom is being interviewed by the Bobs and keeps going back to "but I'm a people person!" What would you say you do here? Maddon: I'm a player manager, I handle the players!
  11. I hope that Chatwood, Mills, Garcia, etc. get significant time against the Cards
  12. Tiger wins his first tournament since 2013, but Rose managed to birdie 18 to take the FedEx Cup. If he had parred, Tiger would've won it, which is nuts.
  13. I think Anderson is wrong, but I still support him yelling at Joe "Can Barely Walk" West.
  14. Not including today, David Bote's batting .189 in September (.566 OPS). Still better than Matt Carpenter. (.172, .528 OPS)
  15. Called it. Not on here, but sitting by myself in my apartment. Just believe me.
  16. It isn't. Rizzo grounded into a "DP" and Almora scored, but Rizzo is safe.
  17. That...wasn't even that close. That ump should be hit in the face with a pie.
  18. Oh, and Pittsburgh is has given up back to back homers to start the 9th.
  19. I swear this team tries to play as stupidly as possible. I mean, the play is in front of you, you can see that the horsefeathering ball went right to the left fielder, throw on the damn breaks and get back to first.
  20. I don't care if they're winning, they're still stupid losers. Score some damn runs.
  21. Who the hell is Cody Reed? Well, whatever. He sucks, so he's clearly going to go 7 shut out innings. Huh, apparently the Cubs have kicked the crap out of this guy before: 2016: 2 GS, 8 IP, 11 ER 2017: 1 GS, 2 IP, 7 ER However, in 2018 in relief: 2.2 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 4 K...
  22. Javy was safe, and I fully expect them to not overturn this.
  23. Matt Harvey is terrible so I'm sure the Cobs will make him look great. Chili is probably already lecturing Javy about how dare he hit a homerun, fortunately Javy just thinks he's telling him how great he is.
  24. This year, according to BR: 82 PA, 8 H, 2 DB, 2 T, 3 HR, 36 BB, 31 K, for a slash line of: 174/.537/.500 for a OPS of 1.037.
  25. Three Cobs will try to continue to suck against the Nats as their collapse continues. Whatever, I didn't even know I was a game thread starter.
