  1. I wonder how some guys here are going to blame that one on Barrett...
  2. damn lucky breaks always going to the other team. If that had been the Marlins the play not only would have been made, but somehow the second baseman would do a full flip in the process.
  3. whats with our pitchers being scared of Dan Uggla?
  4. so, when are these great plays going to start failing?
  5. more than likely, mostly because Lee is probably bored and wants to do something.
  6. I say 81, he walks just after getting the record, proving that its not that he can't, he just doesn't want to. also, to recap: 30 Banedon 31 TheDude 32 Cubbie75 33 Dr. Cub 34 BalsaWoodKeyBoard 35 Treeman 36 sherwood921 37 CubinNYWarpticon 38 Garwilly 39 Badger, Anna 40 ToupeeOnFire 41 coolhandluke84 42 TB_11 43 biittner77 44 goony's evil twin 46 MembersOnlyJacket 47 GoCubs1982 48 ltb 49 Fiver, Big Fergie J 50 IMB! 51 Rob, soapy 53 Chocolate Milk 54 sethuel1 57 matt-o-meter19, Mizzou 58 ndistops 61 Fred Hornkohl 69 moorecg, Wilson A2000 81 sweetpeteman 83 vance 108 Rocket... 397 abuck1220 never the Tiger
  7. Barrett made a decent throw (Not great in any way), but the base was pretty much already stolen, only a perfect throw would have gotten him, although Hairston did pull a pretty nifty tag attempt.
  8. Jones makes me think of another cruddy player who seemed to keep coming up big in 03...
  9. It was me. I turned the game off just after the bottom of the seventh.
  10. Girardi is awesome. I'd take him over Dusty in an instant. I'd take a monkey with a dart board to make out the lineups over dusty.
  11. Mabry will walk and Juan will ground out on the first pitch.
  12. HE GAVE UP A HOMERUN TO MIGUEL CABRERA, NOT EXACTLY A ROOKIE. SO THE HELL WHAT!!! HE STILL GAVE UP 3 RUNS!! Your whole point was how he gave it up to a rookie team, sweetpete called you out, so you stepped back. They may be mostly Rookies, but don't act like they're a bunch of Neifi Perez and Freddie Bynum wannabes. The other run, a double by Willingham, who is pretty damn good, that scored Cabrera. So we are being beat by two really good players and a lefty that the offense made look good. I guess Z is to blame for that too.

  14. For some of these guys they won't be happy with anything less than perfect. Me? I think Z has done a good job tonight outside of a couple pitches early. The big problem has been our offense continueing to listen to Baker and Clines.
  15. He's not throwing strikes, we're just swinging at bad pitches. I hope Baker is happy, his team is showing why being over aggressive like he wants is stupid.
  16. HEY GUYS! THIS GUY ISNT THROWING STRIKES! THEREFORE WE SHOULD BE SWINGING RIGHT AWAY TO MAKE SURE WE DON'T CLAUG THE BASEPATHS! Imagine, if we had anybody who knows what they were doing we could be winning this game and Vargas woould be long gone.
  17. Should shut up about Jose Mesa and the 97 World Series. This jerk managed to bat .233 in the WS that year with only one RBI. In the deciding game 7, he went 1 for 5 with 2 strike outs, no RBI, no runs scored. In the third inning, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he popped out. In the top of the tenth, he lead off with a strike out. Tony Fernandez, who saved his butt in the 3rd by singling in the 2 runners he stranded, then got a single. It should also be pointed out that Mesa didn't lose the game, Nagy did. Mesa might have blown the save, but considering how little Vizquel did, he has no right to complain.
  18. that actually could work, however I hope he gets some practice first. He is a converted 3rd baseman.
  19. great... so he'll cut the payroll back to 60mil and sell Wrigley naming rights, correct?
