  1. PCA right now is the only one under contract for 2031 and 32, his 30 mil will start right after Bregman 35 ends, and he will still be in his prime years. Hoyer will have a good opportunity to build around PCA for those years with the upcoming Prospects, current young players under team control now, and future FA.
  2. I got the years right... lol Didn't expect it to be less then 20 per, but him getting another shot at FA at 31 is good for him, and adding 2 more years without any options is good for the Cubs.
  3. Not sure exactly how these extensions work.. Maybe not for this season and he's playing at whatever it is, I think it 790 K, but aren’t they buying out the remaining 4 Arb years(27-30) with the extension and he plays under the new contract salary?
  4. Im gonna guess this deal will be something like 6 yrs with an opt out in the 7th year, for around 22.5 per. It'll cover his remaining 4 Arb years, with 2-3 extra years, giving him an opportunity to test the FA market after he turns 29 or 30 if he opts in.
  5. Cubs and PCA agree to long extension
  6. Horton with another good start and the regulars looked good with the bats, let get this season started
  7. Yikes, Boyd got lit up by Reds tonight 9 hits 8 runs in 4.2 innings Taillon gave up 3 in the 5th I sure hope our starters dont horsefeathers the bed to begin the season
  8. This has been all spring, outside of maybe two games that Cohen did. But youre right, it pretty stupid to have your own network but use the opposing team broadcast to show games this spring. I dont know when Boog and JD contract is up, I hope soon because call me old fashion, but I prefer familiarity and consistency with my team broadcast booth and want them for all games not half.
  9. Theres 2 open spots for 2027 Theyll have Steele, Horton, and Cabrera returning. Im sure Wiggins will get an opportunity to take a spot, especially if he takes a step forward this season. Brown might just end up being a long reliever/spot starter for the cubs next year and could be a trade piece at the deadline. Maybe they can use Taillon and Imanaga money towards Skubal, or Gallen, Flaherty if they return to form
  10. Good first 2 innings by Taillon... Hopefully he has a good clean game tonight and will be ready to go against the Angels in his next start.
  11. This ST is weird because of WBC and Cubs having multiple regulars playing in it. So, most of their games are played by guys that will either be on their bench, AAA, or released soon. Rojas, Kingery, Shaw, McCormick, Carlson, Triantos, Alcantara all lead the Cubs with 30-45 AB this spring. It almost like Counsell was holding a ST tryout for the bench lol
  12. This is the week you want to start seeing good starts out of your regulars, both pitching and hitting. SP will get their final tune-up before season starts next week, so it good to see Horton and now Imanaga having really good games. Cabrera will start tomorrow and we'll likely see one more from Boyd and Taillon
  13. Horton 10Ks in 5 innings, hes ready to go
  14. Depends on pitches.. They were saying Miller is uncertain for USA after pitching yesterday
  15. What do they with him and his 18 mil once Steele is ready to go hopefully by May. Stick him in the pen and wait for a team to be in need for a starter because of injury
  16. Yeh, this has been a weird ST with them I haven't been able to get excited about cubs baseball yet, maybe it a combo of players playing in WBC and mostly non starters playing for cubs, plus lack of game coverage. At least in the past when they were on wgn i looked forward to the weekend games and knew i'd see most of the regulars at the start and then the minor league guys playing after the first couple innings.
  17. Taillon still sucks, I think theyre gonna regret not trading him and signing someone else
  18. I guess watching McCormick, Conforto, Murray, Cowles, Miller, Kingery, Carlson and other duds most of these games isn’t exactly appealing either.
  19. So is Marquee going away as to why we're not seeing games being televised or is it mostly due to JD and Boog not being around to do these games. Approximately 145 games could be televised on marquee in 2026, Boog and JD will probably combine to miss half 🙄🙄
  20. How does extras affect the tie breaker
  21. Vinny pasquentino 3 bombs tonight
  22. PCA another homer in 9th 8-6 1 out
  23. PCA with a 3 run bomb to pull USA within 4 in 7th
  24. Was thinking same thing earlier today, I cant remember the last time I felt uninterested during ST. Even when they do televise their games, it usually without regulars
