  1. Probably looking at him as being Imanaga replacement after this season, probably offer him the same type of contract Imanaga had gotten
  2. Im not pushing for him either, especially if he looking for 5+ years at 30+ per. I think at age 32, and the leg injury history, i don't want to see them risk that kind of commitment on him
  3. Theyll overpay someone
  4. Listening to Hoyer and Counsell response when asked about the position players, sure sounds like theyre just gonna stick to who they have at all positions. I guess it wouldn't really be shocking if they just went with Amaya, Busch, Hoerner, Swanson, Shaw, Happ, PCA, Caissie, and Suzuki. Kelly, Ballesteros, Kingery or Long and add a LH utility bat Feels like pitching is their main focus, especially the bullpen
  5. Pretty much what I was expecting them to do this offseason
  6. Whitesox Rays Twins get the top 3 draft picks
  7. Good way to get a bullpen arm or a bench player at low cost, and if they don't work out then it just 50K to return him
  8. Any rule 5 players Cubs could be interested in? Guessing Hoyer could look onto adding a pitcher or two here
  9. Dodgers and Yankees swim in the Ocean while everyone else chooses lakes and ponds, been this way forever
  10. Dodgers already have 12 guys under contract for 2027 worth over 275 mil 😅😅
  11. I think It a little better, but maybe a bit on the older side. I think pitching is and should be Hoyer main focus for this offseason, I would love to see him add a solid SP to help solidify a rotation going forward after this season with Steele and Horton. I also think theyll add a bat or two, just dont think itll be someone big, but like you said someone in the tiers below like Bohm.
  12. But Heyman said yesterday the Cubs were interested.. lol Good for Schwarbs being able to stay in Philly.
  13. If they're bringing in a 30 mil dollar bat, wouldn't that be because they're looking to make a playoff push and wouldn't Nico be a big part of that push for them? Especially since his replacement would be Shaw who is still questionable with the bat, which could turn 2B into a revolving door of players. I dont know, I just have a feeling we're not going to see any real major additions this offseason, especially with position players, maybe a SP if they do add someone of significant, but i think they're going to ride out 2026 with the position players they have and the ready prospects like Mo and Caissie and wait til next off season when they'll have more money from the expiring contracts and a new CBA to work off of and potentially a better group of FA to go after.
  14. Hmmmm 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
  15. Right, Cubs offseason needs are big bat, bullpen, SP... So just go with top 2-3 guys at all needs and say cubs are interested in them... lol
  16. Im not saying they definitely are assuming, I was just responding to a post.. But, how do you know for sure they are absolutely looking for a 3Bmen? You only know what these writers are saying that they could be interested in those 3 names and they could be saying that because one of the Cubs needs is a big bat to replace Tucker, and where is the most probable spot to fill that need of all the positions? 3B, so it easy to just assume the Cubs could be interested in Bregman Suarez and Murakami. Heyman just threw out there today that the Cubs could be interested in Schwarber 🙄
  17. Have you heard any rumors about them adding an outfielder ? No just 3B
  18. We have heard many of times about how Cubs have had interest in someone and then find out later they never spoke. Im not saying it happens all the time or even now with these 3Bmen, I mean I can see them renewing interest in Bregman again, but i was just responding to your post with that it could just be an assumption with these rumors now that they could be interested in them.
  19. Most rumors are assumptions, you just look at a team need or where they can upgrade at and the players available to fill the void and just write that Team A has interest or may have interest in such player and it becomes a rumor.. Bregman, Suarez, and now Murakami are the biggest name available 3BMEN on the market, and 3B is where they can upgrade with a big bat if they choose to, so it easy to just assume the Cubs would have interest in those 3.
  20. They have Suzuki and Caissie for RF, so just saying it would be an easier assumption for them to feel they would replace Shaw bat at 3B with an upgrade over adding another RFer. We haven't heard any rumors from them with the Cubs interest in any OFers, unless i missed them
  21. I think it just a big assumption by these writers that if they do add a big bat the most likely spot would be 3B because RF can be filled by either Suzuki and/or Caissie.
  22. Winter Meetings... 4 days of GMs and Agents getting drunk at the bar, and baseball writers trying to scoop up rumors to write about. 😅😅😅
  23. I was talking more like Caissie, Mo, Shaw being traded away, I know i put etc but I was just thinking along the line of prospects that are capable of being starters in the next 2-3 seasons. Guys like Alcantara and Long are basically depth bench guys, they likely wont be bringing in much in a trade, especially a starting position player. I dont see the Cubs adding Bregman, the guy walked away from 83+ mil the next 2 years in order to add years, im sure he looking to get a minimum of 7 years and likely close to 35 per., they might as well offer Tucker that if they're willing to go over 30 on one player.
  24. I'd actually be surprise if they trade any of their ready/near ready prospects like Mo, Caissie etc. Or even Shaw, especially without signing any hitters long term this offseason. With Happ, Hoerner, Suzuki, and Kelly all likely entering FA next offseason and going elsewhere, theyre going to need some home grown guys to fill needs over spending everything on FA for 5 positions that could be open. ( C, 2B, LF, RF, DH)
