    That all he can do with the offense... Happ and Suzuki have NTC and everyone else under contract and unlikely to be traded to add a real upgrade at their position.

    Still pretty sad that they likely won't be players for one of the best impact player that will be available via FA and is only 26 YO.

    Did that include not opting in on Smyly 10 mil ? I saw 51.6 but not sure if that was with the 10 mil or with the 2.5 buyout Either way though, whether it 50+ or 60+, I think the bulk of that will go towards pitching and possibly Sugano if they land him.

    True, but if they do move him this offseason, I doubt Hoyer even attempt to have that conversation unless he trades Bellinger or gets one of Happ or Suzuki to waive and trade. I bet he'll be content with having Bellinger, Happ, Suzuki, PCA (Busch) as his regulars with Caissie and Alcantara as his future/depth and won't feel a need to add another guy that will require 500+ AB for the OF/DH. The names we would likely have to be looking at are probably Catchers, and ones that will be useful off the bench that would be upgrades over who they have now. Bethencourt, Wisdom, Canario, and Tauchman

    He made 750 K last season and is projected to make 5 million this season, i think they can handle that. Not saying they won't but they don't need to trade him this offseason.

    Why would Oakland trade him now ? He's in Arb and under team control for 3 more years.

    Just pretty must cement what I figured would be their offseason plan, focusing on adding better bench players and some pitching. Depending on their record, the trade deadline could be pretty active for them if they plan on then to get guys like Caissie, Shaw, and Alcantara regular playing time. Theyre all just 22 YO, so at least they're still young

    Agree, I hope we see more of 2023 Paredes offensively and not too much of 2022 and final 3-4 months of 2024.

    11th out of 30, I'll have to look but his overall numbers the last 3 seasons aren't that great, so just wondering how unattractive 3Bmen has become lately. Is overall production there that low to where it's not a position of power or run producing anymore ?

    He had a down season overall, not just as a cub. He has had 3 complete seasons now with 380, 570, and 640 PA. Out of the 3 he has had one good season in 2023. Theyll probably keep him with hopes he can bounce back to more of 2023 form, but like I've been saying, IF adding offensive help is a priority for Hoyer this offseason he has two choices. He'll either have to make a trade or two moving a regular to make room, or those additions will have to come from upgrading the bench.

    Ok but you'd think if the Sporting News and Sports Illustrated are printing it then it might have some validation to it as a rumor, No ? 🤷‍♂️

    Alot obviously depends on Bellinger return or not, but if he stays, Hoyer will likely put his main focus more on upgrading the pitching and bench . They are rumored to be heavy favors on landing Japanese pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano. I can see Hoyer staying with Amaya and Bethencourt as their Catchers as both are cost controlled which will give him more flexibility to add elsewhere. I personally hope he moves Paredes and upgrade 3B and see if they can get a ready or close to ready pitching prospect for Amaya and upgrade at starting Catcher.

    Hoyer definitely won't be looking to trade Swanson , now next offseason with possibly a new POBO and GM, it a possibility. I think Swanson will have a bounce back season though, not spectacular but better then this one, especially with HRs and OBP

    I hope so too but we all know it going to depend on whether or not Rickett willing to go over the Threshold in offseason or they make trades, especially if Bellinger returns.

    I said either or, and the or wasn't even the prospects, they were 3rd on the list..lol Add a multi year bat or get a filler until they're ready
