  1. Maybe this inning someone will get that knock and drive in a run, who wants to be today offensive hero
  2. Couldn't ask for anything better out of Horton, matched Skenes zeros and now it bullpen versus bullpen for 3 innings
  3. It an obvious send but damn he wasn't close, only hope was for bit of a bad throw from the cutoff, and he made a great pickup on that short hop. Horton just gotta get through this inning and hopefully the hitters will hit their pen.
  4. Man I thought Busch ball was gonna carry out, hopefully Skenes only has 1 more inning left in him
  5. Had the right two guys up to do some damage and got nothing. At least he piled up the pitches 🤷‍♂️
  6. Today a great day for Horton to go 7 inning with double digits strikeouts. Be awesome if he could have close to a Kerry Wood type game when he had the 20Ks.. 😏😏
  7. Whew, ok, that was their chance and Keller limited the damage and held the lead. Now get more runs
  8. Yep, 3 of 4 would be awesome Love to see the bats rolling again, and some good pitching these games
  9. I dont expect Turner to be dumped either, but like you mention he could get that IL stint a couple times to bring someone up like Long to see what he can do. I just think theyll look for another bat to replace either Berti and or Brujan in July, they don't need 2 guys whose best asset is just to run the bases. The 9 guys are set but eventually especially in July and August you gotta start sitting them here and there to give them a breather and you'd hope they can do better then what they have, and especially if someone gotta miss a couple games for something minor. I think a SP, bullpen arm, and a bench bat could be 3 deals Hoyer should make before the deadline not just to help get them a division title or to the playoffs but also to help them matchup and beat potential teams in the postseason like the Dodgers, Phillies, Mets
  10. Brown likely only has one more start maybe 2 before Imanaga returns , timeline for his return is the Cardinals if all goes well from here til then. I think theyll send Brown back down to work on his changeup more
  11. We see alot of playoff contenders upgrading their bench every deadline with adding someone that can help them. Is there a way to see outside of backup catchers teams bench statistics, cause I would bet that just about all the other playoff teams has at least one guy they can count on unlike the Cubs with Turner, Berti, or Brujan. Those 3 are probably at the bottom end of bench bats.
  12. I agree, im just saying as far as Turner goes they may just keep him because they like his veteran presence in the clubhouse with these guys.
  13. I only mentioned Berti,Brujan, and Turner, they obviously have the Catcher spot wrapped up. It not my job to see who can be available come July, I can make 100 suggestions, doesn't mean anything. Turner likely isn't going anywhere, he's their grandpa Rossy. It shouldn't be hard to upgrade from Berti and Brujan, im sure Hoyer can find a couple bats available that'll be better then those two when needed. He can stash them in Iowa if he wants one for running duties in the playoffs.
  14. In today's game if a SP can go 6 giving up 3 that would likely compare to back in the day when a SP would complete a game or go 8 and giving up 3 or 4. Bullpens are relied upon a whole lot more now then before when you basically just needed a really good setup man and closer.
  15. Yea, Alcantara and Caissie if not traded, one or both could be everyday guys next season depending on what happens with Tucker and the direction the new POBO/GM takes them if Hoyer isn't back.
  16. Only a matter of when that Schwarber was going to club one this series. When Imanaga returns, it'll probably be best to send Brown down and let him work on that changeup, unless your blowing fastballs by these guys and the curves have them looking silly, you can't survive long against major league hitters with just those 2 pitches as a starter unless you have pinpoint location.
  17. we'll be seeing these new additions come July when Hoyer starts making trades. They definitely need to upgrade the bench bats soon. These guys are going to be needing days off here and there to get through July and August and stay fresh for a postseason run in September, and having guys on the bench that could contribute more times then not when givin the opportunity is important when you're trying to win games to make the playoffs. Brujan, Berti, and Turner aren't exactly guys you wanna see getting those ABs when regulars are getting a breather.
