  1. Don't hate them, as a fan im rooting hard for them to do well, but damn you cant just sit here and say they'll be fine after a month plus of not being fine.
  2. Be nice to figure out a way to win tonight game, then with Boyd and Imanaga the next 2 days they'll have a pretty good opportunity to get at least 1 more win and take the series. Sunday pitching matchup heavily favors the Cubs with Imanaga.
  3. The what if he is bad part is why you put Turner on the IL (if he accepts of course). As someone said above , if he going to get an opportunity, now would be the time before the deadline to see what he can do. As far as positions goes, he has played in his time in the minors... 1B 1200 innings 3B 294 innings LF 162 innings So, yea 1B is his position but he can fill in a game or two at 3B and LF if needed.
  4. True, but that lineup has a few more legit guys that can hurt them then the Mariners have. I'd love to get two, I guess I'll be happy to avoid a sweep and get one if it comes to that.
  5. Sorry, I just saw your post now to me. As far as sending him down during the break, that more of a I wouldn't be surprised if Hoyer did that move. Bringing someone up is more because If he does that, then they'll need someone to replace him now. That all my post was intended to be until someone mentioned about me being management, I should of just ignored instead of asking why and it would of avoided tearing up this game thread with that discussion. My bad IMO, Hoyer has two choices to make in regards to 3B and one isnt just leaving Shaw be and let him play it out there everyday and hope he starts hitting. I IMO just dont think that will do him any good now and just prolong his struggles. I agree the answer to 3B isnt in Iowa, as i said above that was just a temporary move only IF Hoyer decided to make a move during the break and send him down. You and I discussed before, the likelihood of adding a stud 3Bmen like Suarez is very low, but what would be good is getting a guy who can platoon with him at 3B and take some pressure off of him.
  6. This game is exactly what they needed before heading to NY, be awesome if they can get 2 of 3 there before the break, and it a possibility with Boyd and Imanaga going this weekend.
  7. Funny how some of you are not complaining now about Happ and Shaw hitting but im sure if I didn't post about how I think Hoyer might make a decision of sending him back after the break and bring someone else up til he finds another 3Bmen, you all know damn well you'd be moaning about Happ 0 for 5 and again how Shaw looks lost at the plate like you always do. It ok, I'll stand in this field by myself here and I obviously hope they both go off and start hitting because as much as I bellyache about it, I do want them to succeed. Like I said, if Shaw continues to struggle, nobody should be upset about it then.
  8. They gave him plenty of non start days when he struggled in June and July because they at least had Tauchman, Shaw dont have that benefit now.
  9. Sending him back is more about giving him a long pause from what going on with him now at this level and give him a chance to reset. PCA struggle came in June and July and he only made 38 starts in those months cause they had the benifit of Tauchman to give him the days off to ease his struggle, he was able to turn it on in August because of that. Shaw dont have that luxury because they have noone to give him those days off as he is the guy for 3B. If Hoyer gets a guy to give him those days off to ease him back in then cool.
  10. If you dont see a kid pressing when hes hitting, I dont know what to tell you. That awesome he had 2 good AB in the last week but what about all the others, I forgot, bad luck.
  11. Lmao... All of you that ok with sticking with Shaw and not sending him back down, then dont complain about him and his ABs and not getting a hit. Don't be happy if Hoyer gets a solid 3Bmen to replace him if he does.
  12. Again that all cool and all but results matter at some point, and this is a 23 yo rookie who is pressing and losing confidence by the day. Someone mentioned about being glad im not management, can you imagine a roster some of you would have built with the all "bad luck" team ? You'd be down in the standings with the Rockies and Whitesox, but it ok cause it just bad luck 🤷‍♂️ I would love to see this kid succeed but to continue to run him out there everyday and drop 0fers, just isnt doing him and his confidence level any good, eventually a decision has to be made and I personally feel it would be best to give him a pause for now like they did with Happ in 2019. I bet if Hoyer went and added a solid 3Bmen at the deadline nobody would be complaining on here.
  13. We joke about his power but this is the Nico we want to see, driving balls through the infield and in the gaps. He would actually be a solid leadoff hitter in the 80s with his base stealing speed if he played then.
  14. Why, you'd rather have a 23yo rookie continue to struggle and look lost at the plate for what ? He has 10 hits in his last 83 AB, 1 in his last 25. There's no good reason to just let this kid continue to look lost at the plate now. He can go down til the end of Iowa season and return in September when rosters expand and get a fresh start, not like it hasn't been done before, they did it with Happ in 2019 and that was his 3rd year with them, he went down for 100 games that season before returning.
  15. Unless Shaw has a big series in NewYork, have to think he starts the second half in Iowa and somebody from Iowa comes up to play 3B until Hoyer gets a replacement. I know when I mentioned this before I was told he has nothing to gain by playing in Iowa as he dominates there, but i just feel that it would be beneficial for him to just finish the season in Iowa and find himself again mentally and just get that confidence built back up while working with the coaches there. It cant hurt and it better then having the kid just lose total confident in himself at this level by struggling everyday and pressing harder then normal because they are a playoff team and not a rebuilding one.
  16. I've said it a few times lately, just wish Counsell would hit Swanson leadoff for now as he is hot, just not getting the hits with a RISP, and with Happ hitting with bad luck the last month, he should move down and hope to have better luck.(😏)
  17. Lmao, yea she has that factor, she definitely has to be fun to hang with. Why boog goes all teenagery when she's around 😅😅😅
  18. Part of why I see today game being big in a way that you'd hate for them to get on the plane to NY after getting swept by a team they easily should of take 2 of 3 from. Mentally they have to be like WTF and now we gotta face the damn Yankees in NewYork, but at least with a win today they can take a deep breath, they have their two best starters going Saturday and Sunday and can have a positive trip.
  19. I know it's batting average and not the metrics some of you love but.... July 2025 Happ: 2-for-27 (.074) Tucker: 6-for-27 (.222) Suzuki: 8-for-30 (.267) PCA: 10-for-33 (.303) Swanson: 11-for-33 (.333) Busch: 15-for-30 (.500) Hoerner: 5-for-27 (.185) Kelly: 5-for-15 (.333) McGuire: 2-for-11 (.182) Shaw: 1-for-22 (.045) It amazing that they are 5 and 3 in July but as you can see the top 3 and bottom 3 of order has been struggling so far. Happ needs to be taken out of leadoff spot and moved down, Swanson is hot despite not coming through with guys on base, maybe just switch them two in Newyork and see what happens.
