  1. Ty Cruz for being impatient and swinging on 3-0 to flyout
  2. Kinda not a good thing when ya gotta pinch hit for your 3 and 4 hitter (Busch, Happ) 🙄😐
  3. Yep... single, error, bunt single, SF, and that homerun ball
  4. This the inning the wheels fall off 🙄🙄🙄
  5. What the plan for Cubs catchers next season? Pick up Kelly 7.5 mil option, trade Amaya, and have Ayers be with team from day one learning from Kelly?
  6. Cabrera sighting today... The Cubs are activating Edward Cabrera and adding him to their bullpen ahead of today’s game against the Pirates at Wrigley Field. In the corresponding roster move, Trent Thornton was placed on the injured list with left ankle soreness.
  7. Love how they just left Kim laying on homeplate after running his asss off and ran to Baldwin 😅😅
  8. Im not defending it, just saying the poster was technically right in the way its always been done and still used today. Yea if you consider the tie breaker rule, the cubs dont have to win that extra game, and im sure they won't hold off their celebration for it 😅😅
  9. Its not about thinking for myself... Like I said you can look at it your way and use the tie breaker or you can play along with the whole magic number way of doing it. It doesn't consider tie breakers, it just goes by how many games can be won by the non playoff teams. So, the OP who posted 13, he was technically right in the spirit of using the magic number way of elimination. Its 12 now, Cubs can win 6 in a row and Padres can lose 6 in a row and its over, and that SD AZ series and the tie breaker means nothing to the Cubs.
  10. Question... Do you dislike the Sox or Sox fans enough to root for the Cardinals this weekend so the Sox can lose ground to Cleveland and Toronto? 😅
  11. You're doing a totally different scenario then the magic number scenario. Magic number is combination of Cubs wins and SD/Arizona losses that equals 12 starting today. That number could go down to Zero before those two teams even meet at end of season. youre just skipping ahead to games that hasn't even been played yet, and just using the scenario of one those two teams will automatically lose at least 2 more games, so the most theyll win is 92 so the Cubs having the tie breaker will just need 10 more wins. Both scenarios are fine to use, but just a different way of figuring it out
  12. Right, when the games between the Dbacks and SD are played at the end of season, that when you can eliminate from the magic number for those games, and, by then the Cubs could already have it clinched over them. Right now its 12 on Dbacks and 13 on Padres. Padres played 1 less game than Dbacks, both have 78 Wins
  13. Yes it was, its 12 now... You're doing a magic number as of now, not for future games of what ifs. Arizona is the team on outside, so as of now theyre the team you go off of. Theyre 78 and 69 so the most they can win is 93, so the cubs with 82 wins just need 12 more... Magic number is 12
