Problem may be the bats, those guys can give QS but the bats may just continue to suck against opponents top 3 starters. They really need Happ Zuki Tucker and PCA to catch fire and be hitting for the playoffs

Crazy seeing Tucker's average dropping everyday since he was at .290 on July 1st. He's way too good of a hitter for this, currently hitting .266 🙄

Gets him an off day today and likely Sunday too, i think or hope CC uses this opportunity with Caissie up now to get these OFers and Zuki extra days off to get them well rested heading into final week of season and playoffs.

Reminded me of when Sox played Toronto in 1993 playoffs a buddy who a huge Sox fan and I went to Toronto to see Game 4 with a group from his bar, family owned. He and I went and bought 2 scalped tickets for 80 bucks total to sit in box seats 1st base side instead of sitting on top with the rest of group. Hour flight there, hour flight back the same night, we went to his bar at 2AM and just drank for another couple hours after it was close 🤣🤣🤣

I think we shouldn't put too much emphasis on how Caissie going to perform in these final 43 games of season. He could have a hot 3-4 games today and over the weekend against Pirates pitching and then tail off or he can spend these next 43 games looking like Vaughn in Milwaukee for them. Of course he could just look like April Matt Shaw. I think bottom line, this is just an opportunity now for Caissie to likely get around 80 or so PA at this level and he'll be able to go into the offseason and work on some adjustments that he may need, whether he hits well or struggles. For the team itself, I think it will be helpful just to be able to give the 4 OFers much needed off days so they are rested and whatever aches them can heal for the playoffs.

A bit surprised it Caissie, guessing he'll be playing tomorrow with Zuki sitting and will likely get his PT filling in a bit for Happ in LF and maybe mostly for Zuki at DH against RHers. Hopefully he can get a knock and help put some life back into the offense.

So Horton is the new stopper in the rotation.. Nice to get a W and have it be against a WS contender, maybe they should just keep playing the AL East more cause they sure can handle them. Hopefully Boyd can continue his good starts and Scherzer shows his age 😆

I was kidding with Lopez, I dont ever want to see him again. Id be surprise if they started Caissie clock now, though it would be nice to see him. I think it'll be Alcantara or Ballesteros and this way between either and Castro, the 3 OFers and Zuki could get more days off.

Funny, for 3 months we were all wishing we had a 3rd basemen who could hit with the rest of the bats, we got that now since the break with Shaw but everyone else stopped hitting. Almost like a deal was made with the 😈 Get us a 3rd baseman that can hit no matter what it takes, and it took everyone else's production 🙄🙄🙄 Maybe we should return the ask 🤣😆

Right, they got the position player everyone wanted in Castro to help them in that department, so like you said theres no excuse for the hitters to all turn into Jason Heyward for the last 30 plus games. They added a couple bullpen arms that was needed. So the only let down was having the SP they got get hurt in his first start but getting Taillon back should give them a boost. Bottom line though, they all just need to put their big boy jock on and go out there and start doing the little things to win baseball games again.

Taillon pitched today for Iowa so he'll likely get a game on Monday against Milwaukee. That series SP rotation looks to be Taillon and Horton on Monday for the Double Header, Boyd on Tuesday, Rea on Wednesday, and Imanaga on Thursday. So at least the Cubs will have their 5 starters going and not a bullpen game or a rookie making his first start. 3 of 5 would be the low end goal, obviously 4 or sweep will go a very long way with getting back into having a solid chance at 1st place. Hopefully baseball will baseball and that scale starts to tip this weekend heading into that series and the cubs go on their run and the Brewers start to experience losing again. 🤷♂️😆

I wouldn't say his season is mediocre, but it is a bit disappointing overall especially after the first three months he had, looking like a 30/30 guy with a solid average, 900 OPS, and driving in 100 RBI. July and first couple weeks of August he turned into Jason Heyward with the bat 🤷♂️

They'll probably offer 10/300 and lose out to a team that'll offer something around 12/360. Id be very surprised if he gets 400 mil unless he has a big September.
