Maybe Assad will be held up until September when rosters expand, unless they plan on sending Brown down for him to return in August. Guessing Rea will go to pen when Taillon returns next week or so with Pomeranz likely DFA or IL. I dont think theres any other pitcher to move off roster besides Brown and Pomeranz. -

Not sure but they could be playing less day home games in July and August then before. Playing more night games then day games has alot to with it as the weather gets cooler at night, the wind shifts more. -

A somewhat big series for cubs, only because it can put more distance between them and the team they have the current magic number against for clinching a playoff spot. It 44 for those who were wondering ð -
Id take it, they'd pick up a game on them after what will likely be a tough series with them.

Kind of the point of saying you hope this kind of game kicks starts them. 3 of 4 is a start but weve seen them do that then lose the next couple games. you're hoping for now is this wil kick start them to a nice long win streak and maybe even a stretch of playing a bit better then 600 ball for a bit. Going 14-6 or better over the next 20 is a type of run you'd like to see now, that what saying you hope this gets them going means.

They got lucky... There's a big big difference between the two though, the first one Kelly a slow footed catcher, wasn't running 270 feet to try and outrun a throw, a 3B coach should know his baserunners and know outside of a errant throw he going to be nailed, and also know who is coming up afterwards, which was Castro. There's being aggressive and theres being stupid, this send was being stupid.
