2 runs in 16 innings against the Marlins, and those 2 only happened because of a mental/physical error on 1 play. Definitely not looking like a team playing for a top WC playoff seed, maybe they prefer going to Atlanta 🤷

I saw its around 40-50 pitches for starters, so yea maybe more 2-3 innings depending on how he does.

Saw that, I can see him going 3-4 innings like a bullpen day and then using Assad/Rea/Civale. Also saw that in September they dont allow for that extra pitcher in DHers

I honestly prefer Steele not to pitch at all with the Cubs in any stressful game this season if Saturday game is meaningful. But if their playoff faith is settled by Saturday, then having him throw say 25 pitches just to get him out there and get a taste for this season, ill be fine with that. Then he has that under his belt and can go through a normal offseason to get ready for hopefully ST in February.

Boyd is starting tomorrow, Peterson and Holmes on Friday, Saturday will probably be a bullpen game.

This, if its 7th inning with guys on base or later, then yes pinch hit for him against a lefty, but he does this in the 5th/6th inning for no particular reason other than matchups, and then theres no counter if needed later in game. Counsell makes it too easy to use up his bench options for later in game because of this.

The game didn't start in the 10th inning.. Theyre 1 for 15 with RISP with 14 LOB and they probably walk Happ with 2nd and 3rd and 1 out to set up a DP chance with Ramirez, so that FB likely doesn't happen. Did he fuk up yes, is he the blame, hes 1 of 9 in this game lol
