  1. I agree, im just saying as far as Turner goes they may just keep him because they like his veteran presence in the clubhouse with these guys.
  2. I only mentioned Berti,Brujan, and Turner, they obviously have the Catcher spot wrapped up. It not my job to see who can be available come July, I can make 100 suggestions, doesn't mean anything. Turner likely isn't going anywhere, he's their grandpa Rossy. It shouldn't be hard to upgrade from Berti and Brujan, im sure Hoyer can find a couple bats available that'll be better then those two when needed. He can stash them in Iowa if he wants one for running duties in the playoffs.
  3. In today's game if a SP can go 6 giving up 3 that would likely compare to back in the day when a SP would complete a game or go 8 and giving up 3 or 4. Bullpens are relied upon a whole lot more now then before when you basically just needed a really good setup man and closer.
  4. Yea, Alcantara and Caissie if not traded, one or both could be everyday guys next season depending on what happens with Tucker and the direction the new POBO/GM takes them if Hoyer isn't back.
  5. Only a matter of when that Schwarber was going to club one this series. When Imanaga returns, it'll probably be best to send Brown down and let him work on that changeup, unless your blowing fastballs by these guys and the curves have them looking silly, you can't survive long against major league hitters with just those 2 pitches as a starter unless you have pinpoint location.
  6. we'll be seeing these new additions come July when Hoyer starts making trades. They definitely need to upgrade the bench bats soon. These guys are going to be needing days off here and there to get through July and August and stay fresh for a postseason run in September, and having guys on the bench that could contribute more times then not when givin the opportunity is important when you're trying to win games to make the playoffs. Brujan, Berti, and Turner aren't exactly guys you wanna see getting those ABs when regulars are getting a breather.
  7. Probably stuffing them in a box and making them wear ties i believe was the early complaint with Marquee
  8. Exactly, this is his first year getting alot of time in the booth with them, he has done pretty good in Iowa the last couple years when he was teaming up with Elise. You have a veteran analyst in JD who has been used to working with two of the top PBP guys in Len and now Boog, who now when he is there is working with a younger guy getting his feet wet. It hard to get chemistry when that booth is like a revolving door because both JD and Boog are missing half the games. We Cubs fans have been spoiled and lucky to have had hall of famers PBP guys over the last what 70 years. Name a few, Jack Brickhouse, Vince Lloyd, Milo Hamilton, Lou Boudreau, Harry Carey, Pat Hughes, Len Kasper Since Marquee and Len leaving, the last 5 years hasn't really been all that great with the revolving door.
  9. W... Just keep winning and the losing streaks short
  10. Needed that run. hopefully the bats are waking up again
  11. Yea he does that alot... Wonder what gonna happen with him next season now that ESPN won't be doing games, if he signs elsewhere it possible they Cubs could allow him to leave.
  12. Didn't like the Howard pick, I know there wasn't alot to go on that draft because of Covid, just always felt like they chose him just because he was a popular Chicago kid and they didn't really do the work for that draft.
  13. There's only so many spots in bottom of order for the Swanson, Kelly and anyone else that struggling..lol
  14. Just wait til August 1st, then it ok to start sweating it if they're still having trouble beating playoff teams after then.
  15. Why does it seem like they struggle to get that ghost runner home often.. Gonna be tough to hold them here with who they have up now
  16. Funny, Boyd only at 50 pitches and he's starting to look like he's done while Wheeler at 84 and still looks like he can go 2 more innings 😅
