    It's time to let 2016 go, it was great and happened and last year was fine with the World Series hangover excuse but what's the excuse now? Daaaaaaamn. I'm not ever letting 2016 go. Dude, that was the year all living Cubs fans were waiting for, dreamed and prayed about. Damn you. But, were you happy that night or already thinking about how they might fail to repeat? Just trying to learn more about you before I jump in and judge you like everyone else has. I'm not letting the 1985 Bears go either, 33 years later and look where they are

    Can't play like you did last year and expect to make the playoffs. The NL Central has 3 teams that might be better.

    The team that absolutely destroyed us in the NLCS last year? This just isn't a great comeback. Because, really, both fan bases would take our last three years over their last three years and both would take our year this year so far, too. I mean yeah, I would for sure. But let's not act like the Dodgers are going away. They'll be contending for the next decade for sure.

    yeah well it looked like we were still loaded after the ws. 18 months later and there's mediocrity everywhere mediocrity everywhere = 3 wins from a world series and a month of above .500 baseball The pitching carries them. The young position players they banked on just arent good enough

    Mac Williamson has had success with him this year. I have no clue why the Cubs seem to be anti-launch angle these days.

    Uh...why? The fact that we basically have 3 functional offensive players right now seems like enough of a reason Offense was like this last year too. The hitting coach has little to do with the struggles right now. It's strictly on the players.

    The only one we really invested big-time into at this point is Yu. Eloy still has to become a stud for us to really have invested anything into Q, and Chatwood is on a three-year contract that will be over in a blink of an eye, while really only making No. 4 or No. 5 starter money any way and performing like a No. 4 or No. 5. Yu for sure has to pick it up. Can't be tanking in the first year of a six-year, $126 million contract. Having two of those guys with Heyward and Yu would suck even for a big market team. no. eloy was going to be traded for some pitcher. we chose Quintana. it doesn't matter if eloy ends up sucking. also chatwood's money is not insignificant, especially with Heyward on the books. I'm not too sure people should be writing off Dylan Cease at this point. If he puts it together, he could be a legit TOR arm. There's a chance the White Sox could get more out of him than the Cubs get out of Quintana if this continues.

    We. Made. The. NLCS. That’s the goal? To get destroyed in the NLCS? Last year these guys cried about being tired in the NLCS because of how much effort they had to use in the 2nd half to make up for their shitty start.
