  1. boy that shows we miss Lee in that 3rd spot.
  2. I agree, i just don't want to see him start ever again...use the rookies, they need seasoning anyway, season is over anyway.
  3. I was thinking July at the time he got hurt. I have a broken thumb right now and I can't do anything for 2 months...let alone play profesional baseball!
  4. I agree, bat him 8th...if he gets on, the pitcher can bunt him over to second or third depending on if he steals a base...then he'll be knocked in by Walker... :)
  5. I'm with you completely. I really wanted to see the old Kerry come back. He was a huge part of what really got me to my full Cubs obsession level that I'm at today. Kingman and Buckner sucked me in. Sandberg put the final nail in the coffin. Them sons a... Ever since I watched Sandberg play at my first game at Wrigley, I've been hooked. I love Kerry Wood, and I feel horrible for him....but its time to take that 13 million or whatever and spend it on someone who has a better health track record. Thank God for Z and Marshall...and maybe Prior and Marmol.
  6. He has a home in AZ and a home in IL and he is at pretty much EVERY Cubs home game with rare exception. Well then travel shouldn't be a problem then now should it...sinc ehe does it anyway. Not sure what you don't understand but you claimed Billy lives in Arizona. He is in Chicago over the summer NOT Arizona so thusly he is not traveling. I didn't know he had a house in IL as well...I missed that in your post.
  7. He's hitting to the right side...just how sammy used to heat up.
  8. And it's been that way for years. Stupid approaches by stupid players led by a stupid manager. Count me in as well, their refusal to adjust their collective approach based on a given pitcher' pattern, etc. is beyond stupid. I'd like them to go with some pitches...outside to right field. The outs are bad, but when its 2-0 and you ground out weakly...that's just bad decisions
  9. But does the AAA coach know something that he's telling Hill about his release or mechanics that helps his control that moron rothschild dosen't see? Its possible.
  10. thanks...I laughed out loud and my boss thinks I like my job.
  11. I stopped tivoing games...and they are winning, so it was me too. Oh, and i threw out my cubs hat I got at the 2003 game 1 marlins game...that' it too.
  12. I have a bet that jones won't hit less than .270, 20 hr, 75 rbi...he's actually making me nervous now. I'll take the loss if its good for the cubs though.
  13. He should take Barett's number while he's out...that way we won't even notice Barett is gone.
  14. well, given what has been said about the relationship between z and oscar, i'm not sure carlos would be the ace he is today. Isn't he dead?
  15. I thought of this too...but I don't think he can physically handle it....He'll be playing 1st anyway won't he...
  16. He has a home in AZ and a home in IL and he is at pretty much EVERY Cubs home game with rare exception. Well then travel shouldn't be a problem then now should it...sinc ehe does it anyway.
  17. I thought that as well, Bob didn't seem to agree. Its all speculation really because Williams is in Arizonia. Plus, he like Pole for pitching coach as well, he was maddux coach in atlanta wasn't he? Oh, so I just IMAGINED that Billy sang the stretch last night on WGN TV with Don Zimmer. Okay...thanks for clearing that up. LOL! Well he LIVES in Arizonia doesn't he...he's entitled to go to games. :)
  18. Bob isn't in the organization...it was just a conversation with someone who WAS in the organization and still has ties with people on the team and in the front office. I know he's not, but you claim Bob knows people inside the organization that think Prior is soft and that Bob thinks the same thing. I'd just like these baboons to think beyond the neanderthalic measuring of toughness in regards to injuries. What he said, and I'm paraphasing, is something to the effect that prior is a soft california boy that doesn't know the differece between pain and injury. We were talking about Wood and how he really has changed his attitude with Maddux on the team...and the went into Prior when he said that. I do agree, I think how they handled the team in 2003 effected these young guys and why haven't they thought about that. Why is Zambrano leading the league in pitches per game AGAIN !
  19. or Lee Elia as it turned out
  20. I didn't ask your direct question, but I said something genius like "why hasn't everyone been fired then??"...and he basically said he coudln't understand it either. He also said no one listens to Rothschild anyway, he's just there...sad state of affairs I'd think. Didn't Hendry make Dusty keep Rothschild whe Dusty signed on...probably has them tied at the hip and they'll leave together.
  21. My question is why didn't we trade Prior straight to the Rangers. Teixeira>>>>>>Tejada. I think because the viewed Tejada + Bedard > Texeria. Need a pitcher to make up for the loss of prior...even though he doesn't pitch anyway ironically.
  22. Bob isn't in the organization...it was just a conversation with someone who WAS in the organization and still has ties with people on the team and in the front office.
  23. not only that...he hits SECOND!!! SECOND for god sakes.
  24. Who said this? Maddux or Bob Ibach? Bob said the organization thinks he's soft...but bob said he agreed and the league seems to have that idea. He also said with his age, potential, and no known structural injury reported now, he'll always been interesting to teams.
  25. Thanks for the details on the conversation. What did he say the players thought of Dusty Baker, now that we heard how much of a joke Rothschild is? We didn't talk about Baker at all, all he said was he's going to be given a chance to turn it around this year beacuse of the injuries and the high paycheck. And the part about Brenly in the wings.
