  1. It isn't that he was added, per se. What happened is that a new guy took over a team, and I made him an offer for Oswalt. Because he is still new to the league, and to CBS, he did not know that he had an offer and released Oswalt. I sent him an email asking what it was about the deal he didn't like, and he told me that he was never aware that he had an offer. We presented the case to the commish, and he allowed the deal to be made because the newbie was unaware. And this all went down before the Sunday night cutoff. It's legit.
  2. BJ Upton lost his rookie eligibility in 2004 by having over 130 AB. Therefor the three year countdown began in 2005 no matter his service time. According to whom? CBS shows him with 3 years of service. Hosak, Tim and I have discussed and we amend the rule that if a player does not have ANY AB or IP in a year during their exemptness, then that will not count against the player. BJ Upton is there for exempt for the 2008 season. If anyone else has a similar circumstance and released a player because of something like this please notify Tim or myself and we will make an adjustment the adjustment to your roster. You have until Sunday night (one week before the draft) to let us know. Thank you.
  3. The draft has been set for 3/30/08 @ 6pm est.

  5. Tim could probably answer this question better than I. I will try and take a look at it later tonight though.

  7. Yeah, that team did not have a lot of exempt players.
  8. Let me get confirmation from said "newbie" and find out if he is indeed interested. If so, since this trade had been discussed and you notified us before the deadline, I don't see a problem with letting this trade go through.
  9. Derek Jeter.....oh wait, that was last season. #-o
  10. We now have a replacement for Banedon as well and should be setup this evening.
  11. Thanks for responding Banedon. I am working on getting a replacement. You've been a tough competitor these last two years. Best of luck to you with all your commitments. :good:
  12. Last deadline to finalize your roster for the 2008 season is Sunday, March 16th @ 11:59pm. If at that time a team has not finalized their roster, Tim or myself will be making the drops for you. Also, please respond to this thread or my e-mail before that same time so we know that you are still alive and still interested in the 2008 season or we will have to find a replacement. Sorry for the drastic meassures but we are seriously running out of time!! The draft is only 18 to 19 days away.
  13. Okay, so the league says that the draft date is the 22nd. Is this true? Also, these teams are two weeks past the deadline to get their rosters under the limit. Is there going to be any enforcement of the rule on this? It's pretty tough to prepare for a draft when you have no idea who's in it two weeks before. Others may not, but I have an insane schedule, including being out of town and away from internet access ALL of the week leading up to the draft. So, if the commish could either get the teams to comply or drop players for them, that would be helpful. No, the 22nd is not correct. The draft will either be the 29th or 30th. Time TBD. I will send another e-mail this evening to the league. Tim has not chimed in on this yet.
  14. I think we are probably looking at the two following dates: Saturday, March 29 Sunday, March 30 The weekend of the 22nd and 23rd are out because of Easter weekend and the weekend of the 15th and 16th is getting too close with just getting a replacement in place for RAW and not all teams having adjusted their lineups for keepers.
  15. Who says this? Last year's points say this. Check it out. 2007 scoring, Heath Bell finished 3rd among relievers, but both of the other relievers got 90% of their innings as starters. Well now you've given away the sleeper of the draft!!!
  16. Who says this?
  17. Where have you been? I can't believe it's been almost 7 years since the good old ESPN boards! Check out the thread with your team name. It lists all your players and where they stand. Please select your keepers as soon as possible.

  19. You need to drop players that do not fit under the 1800 point cap. I don't supposed I could find somebody who would let me know who is exempt? When is everything going down? I will work on it tonight. The keeper cut off was supposed to be 2/24 but obviously it has been extended. The draft is going to be on some Saturday or Sunday in this month. My guess at this point it will be 22/23 or 29/30. BTW, what's your team name? I believe I settled on gutless choking dogs last summer. Goony?

  21. The new owner who is taking over for RAW (Incarcerated Scarfaces) should be all set up this evening.

  23. #1 needs to be ironed out. #2 is this Sunday. We need to get rolling people. A week after the deadline, 4 teams are still illegal. They may illegal but that could be because they don't have enough players to fill all positions right now (like mine). I am going to start going team by team tonight to see if everyone has dropped below the 1800 cap. It will probably take me a couple days since I am at the busiest part of the month at work.
  24. I will add him back to my roster tonight.....err, I mean your roster. 8-[
  25. They won't anymore with MacPhail running the O's. ;) Take a good look at the Rays team this season and I think anyone would agree they are FINALLY on the right path.
