  1. Make your intentions known here on whether you will be participating in the amatuer draft starting 6/12/08 at 12:01am.
  2. - If a player is added to the CBS database after the draft has started (6/12/08, 12:01am), he may not be picked up via FA until after the draft is complete (if not drafted). - The draft order will be based on the standings as of the end of day Tuesday 6/10/08.
  3. I'm still rooting for the ultimate Crosstown Classic!! Cubs + WSox + World Series = Pandemonium in Chicago. =D>
  4. I adopted the Rays when I moved to Ft. Myers 2 years ago as the local team to root for. There is a lot less space on the bandwagon since then. It's rather ironic that the Rays have started to improve since I moved here. The same thing happened to me in Minneapolis when I moved there in 1998. Four years later they were playing in the ALCS. Nothing better than going to the ballpark the day of the game and getting a seat behind homeplate for $25.
  5. Clay Buckholz is no longer on the MLB DL (since 5/31). Please remove him from your your teams DL. Thanks.
  6. You have 1 too many reserve players. Please drop a player from your roster ASAP. Thanks.
  7. Goony, it's not a preranked draft. It is going to be conducted here on these boards. If you give me a list of the players you want in order, if you are not around, I will pick the first available player for you from your list.
  8. I agree with the fact that if John Smoltz is back to being a reliever he should be able to be used in the starting lineup as a RP right away and not have to wait for 10 relief appearances as the current rules state. What I disagree with is that while he is a relief pitcher he should be allowed to be added to the lineup as a SP. Why should a team have the benefit of starting an extra 4th reliever when you are only allowed to start 3? Anyway, there is a poll on the league website for changing the waiting time on a pitchers eligibility. Please vote if you have not done so already. We need 7 votes to change it or it will be left as is for at least the remainder of this season. Side Note: - this rule has not changed for the three seasons this league has been in tact. For the first season it may not have been enforced to the fullest but for the last season and a half this is what I have gone by since helping Tim out with commissioner duties. I have no problem changing/improving a rule by putting it to league vote and I'm sure Tim feels the same way but you guys have to speak up. That is why I created the post for offseason issues which is also stuck at the top of this forum.
  9. All I can say is #-o
  10. All of it is rather grade school if you ask me.
  11. So I wonder when the devil gets his soul?
  12. If a situation happens like the one you mention above that would still be against league rules. You cannot get a start from a pitcher in the RP spot. This rule change is more for players like John Smoltz, Joba Chamberlain, etc.

  14. I think this is going to become known as the Sean Gallagher rule and the last straw for Vine. Mark, I am going to have to revert you to the following post for the rules on this: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=48519#p1778187 I think maybe this should go to an immediate emergency league vote since this is not the first time this has come up.
  15. Interesting note: The two teams with the best records in baseball (Cubs 36-21 and Rays 35-22) have played the least amount of road games as any other team so far this season (23 each). Both these teams are about to embark on long stretches on the road (Cubs 23 of 32 and Rays 15 of 24). This should be a great test for both these clubs. And as a Sox fan, do you believe the Cubs can sustain their success of the road? Considering that all but two road series (Rockies & Nationals) have been against teams right at or above .500, I think the Cubs should improve or stay right around .500 on the road. They do that and win 50 or more games at home the division should be theirs.

  17. Really? You sound like Exxon/Mobil complaining that your profits aren't record breaking enough. :-({|=
  18. He talks like Hosak, acts like Hosak, trades like Hosak and builds his team for the future like Hosak.....things that make you go hmmm.......
  19. Apparently Cabrera asked Guillen to call up and complain and he wouldn't so Cabrera called himself. [-X
  20. Smells like teen spirit to me. I'm guessing this deal is most likely with D.Pound since he doesn't have any minor leaguers.
  21. I think he's really Steve Bartman. ;)
  22. Good question.....since the players will not be directly placed on a teams roster until they are added to the CBS database (only having "the rights" to the player) you could still carry 10 minor leaguers. At the time that they are added to the database, however, you will immediately have to open a roster spot or give up said draftee.
  23. I would hope that it wouldn't take 48 hours to make the first two picks.
  24. Isn't a broadcaster/commentator's job supposed to praise or criticise the players/teams play?
  25. I will be at a conference that Monday and Tuesday and won't have access to the site. Will Thursday, June 12th work?
