We are not that far along yet and I haven't been able to reach Tim. As far as a draft date, my guess would be mid to late March.

I'll look again tonight. If I can't figure it out we'll have to get Tim involved to see how he did it last season when we had new people come in and take over teams.

If we're changing the rule, it should be changed going into NEXT offseason. I set up my roster per the rules, and it would suck to change them now, just because some others did not do so. I also feel that teams who are not benefitting from this setup have more incentive to make a few trades for exempt players. All those voting yes had every opportunity to play by the same rules as the rest of us, imo. Could the rule be changed? Yes, it could, and it should. Just not going into THIS season. Sounds fair. This rule will be implemented as soon as our league championship is over in September 2008 for the 2008 offseason.

I agree, there were some players last year (like Chone Figgins) that weren't on rosters most of the year because the SB wasn't very valued.

Is this being implemented this season or should we revote? This decision will certainly impact some teams, one being mine where I could keep 19 players.

I don't believe there is anything in the rules either way so there needs to be a league vote because it could cause a disagreement.

Say I wanted to trade Carlos Lee to a another team but this team was set with their "keepers" under the cap. They really want Lee but they are short 200 points under their cap. I on the other hand have 200 points available under my cap. So I would trade Carlos Lee plus 200 points to this other team for what ever they were giving me in return. It would be like I was paying a portion of the players salary like in trades where teams send other teams cash.

Unfortunately, the season missed does count against the player. I have the same situation with Kelly Johnson.
