  1. Says the guy asking people to vote in a poll. You want what you want, I want what I want. Thanks for your response. Says the guy that asked for all these offseason issues in the first place and has just now voted. #-o
  2. Are you making up quotes again Hosak? I have no idea what you are talking about?? :-" BTW, received another "yes" vote.....5-2 in favor of the rule change.
  3. This offer has evolved a little bit...Fitz and Julius Jones for Boldin and Evans. I'm killing on RBs (I still have Portis, Gore, and Ernest Graham on top of Jones), but don't have much depth at receiver after Fitzgerald. Would anyone else do this deal? Boldin is a question mark and Evans has only made 16 receptions so far. Fitzgerald is a stud and will get more thrown his way until Boldin returns, if he returns. I think you would be giving up too much for an injured player and one that hasn't had a lot of touches.
  4. I would be willing to bet he will put more thought into it especially with the rating killing series of Philadelphia/Tampa on the horizon. This is the worst possible ratings scenario baseball could have gotten going into the playoffs (well, maybe Brewers/Rays would have been worse). Going in you could have had: Chicago vs Chicago LA vs. LA Cubs vs. anybody Red Sox vs. Dodgers White Sox vs Dodgers
  5. Come on people.....we need to votes to be able to change issues you guys had during the season!!
  6. Dude, chill....it's only October 16. Yes, the rights can be traded. No, you don't have to make a roster spot until the player is added to the CBS database, however, you cannot carry more than 5 players from the amateur draft. You will have to relinquish the rights of another player if you currently have 5.
  7. Are you talking about a player that was drafted in our league's amateur draft?
  8. Didn't someone at the beginning of this thread say that the actions of WSI were not indicative of the fanbase as a whole? They absolutely cannot cheer for their own team, they have to root against the Cubs. Seriously, some psychiatrists need to study this. Was she the only one at the game? Every fan base has their idiots. The actions of some does not reflect every fan.
  9. Trade him and get a left handed bat that can hit and put the fear into opposing pitchers. Can Mark Teixeira play LF? I think he played their some in his rookie season.
  10. I hope he dies. Classy. :glare:
  11. Cubs 2009 "Resistance is Futile"
  12. Don't know. I haven't heard from him but I thought I'd keep the ball rolling.
  13. "Twelve is not fifteen, Eddie."
  14. What was the one sign I saw in game 1...."I don't have another 100 years!" With the fans, the press, etc. talking about that all time, it's got to wear on these players. They're only human.
  15. - for my Grandfather and his Brother (may they both rest in peace) who never got to see a Cubs championship in their 80+ years on Earth. - for the Cubs themselves. - for Steve Bartman.
  16. I know the majority of my family is suffering. Comments from my Mom and Sister this morning were, "The Cubs are breaking my heart." and "Don't get me started on the Cubs, they are making me sick to my stomach." With the season they have had I cannot believe they have come out this flat in the first two games of the postseason.
  17. And my point was I was having a little fun. Isn't that what sports/predictions are all about?
  18. Here's another wrinkle....the Cubs have never won a playoff game west of Chicago. 1984 vs. San Diego 0-3 1989 vs. San Francisco 0-3 2007 vs. Arizona 0-2 2008 vs. LA Dodgers ???
  19. Oh no....BTW, you need a space between weak and the first parenthesis.
  20. Hey, can someone take this thread off of "sticky"?
  21. Dead on! =D> Bump an 8 month old thread to pat yourself on the back? ;) Damn straight! \:D/ To be honest I don't remember even reading the first post of what MLB.com had. Maybe I should call them for a job. In another thread I got :blackeye: pretty good for picking the Astros this high. I like being right. :yahoo:
  22. 1.Cubs (+4) 2.Phillies (+2) 3.Brewers (+3) 4.Mets (-3) 5.Astros (+4) 6.Cardinals (+4) 7.Marlins (+8) 8.Dodgers (-6) 9.Diamondbacks (-6) ------------------contender line------------------- 10.Reds (+1) 10.Rockies (-3) 12.Braves (-4) 12.Giants (+4) 14.Pirates (-1) 15.Padres (-3) 16.Nationals (-2) Way off on the Marlins, Dodgers (still contenders) and Diamondbacks (still contenders). Was correct about the Astros being better than people thought and the Padres being worse than people thought.
  23. Maybe you are not going to use all 1800 points and want to get another draft pick. Maybe you are short a few points in order to keep a star player. By passing this rule you will be allowed to trade salary cap space. Need 7 "yes" votes to pass. A tie will mean a flip of a coin.
  24. Great season everyone! As you know the "regular" season ended with the White Sox 1-0 victory over the Twins. As of that moment, there was no more picking up of players. Any players picked up after this time will have to be released. You are, however, now allowed to make trades again with other teams for players or picks. There was also talk of wanting to trade unused salary cap. I will put this to a vote in another thread. Keep checking back here and the league site for new polls and news for offseason issues. You can reach me anytime through e-mail which is posted on both sites.
