  1. First off Hosak, I would like to say thank you for getting the ball rolling with this new league. I know for a lot of us it has been a very trying 12-18 month period in our lives with the way of the economy and I know for me this league is a great escape from that and I look forward to it all offseason. Your efforts are much appreciated and by me co-commissioning, it's the least I could do. Now on to the nitty gritty: While I will miss having the #1 and #3 overall pick, I agree with this. I also think the slate should be wiped clean for 2010 as well (only two picks had been traded). I also agree here with 5 major leaguers (either exempt or non-exempt) but I think we could keep more minor leaguers. Maybe 4 or 5. These moves are going to throw a lot more talent back into the pool. So if I understand you correctly here, after the end of the 2009 season we will have exempt and non exempt players with a new "CAP" and a limit to the # of exempt players we can keep. Exempt players will still be determined based on 130 AB and 50 IP. Once I get logged into the new league I will take a look and make some suggestions. I basically know who my keepers will be and my minor leaguers (just think we should keep more than 2). I can draft in the evenings anytime after 7pm EST Monday through Friday and anytime before 4pm EST on Saturday's (NO SUNDAY'S PLEASE). I like the idea of the winner getting to play for free the following year. I will be paying by paypal. I will be paying for myself and DSB and then he'll just reimburse me the next time I see him. Talk to NCCubfan. He was very helpfull the last time we added someone to this forum.
  2. The league may be changing but the results will not!! I will continue to dominate!!!
  3. Sent you mine, MM & DSB.
  4. Both MM and DSB are in! Sent additional messages to goony and raw.
  5. Hosak, sent you a PM. BTW, I am interested and would like to try and keep teams intact.
  6. Well since we only got three responses the trading deadline will remain as is for the 2009 season.
  7. Dempster was still with the Marlins in 2001. He joined the Cubs in 2004. I just copied and printed what Yahoo was showing. Soriano wasn't with the Cubs and there was no National team then either so there must be some goof up in their database.
  8. My oldest team available on Yahoo (2001). This team was good enough for 2nd place. 9. See it was so bad it has affected my typing skills.
  10. Completely agree. My neck :P still hurts 5 years later from watching a Twins game at the dome sitting down the third base line (shallow left field). Those site lines were/are brutal.
  11. More than likely but all these players still have not been added to the datebase. I noticed some have been within the last couple of weeks. I will put out a list of which teams need to add these players to their minor league rosters shortly. We can't do anything though until the waiver process has been started.
  12. Count me in. What are the details?
  13. Roady, has a trade not been processed through the league site?
  14. Yes, please do and then post your complete rosters here for all to see. If this is not done by 2/28/09 then myself and Tim will go and make the selections for teams on 3/1/09.
  15. You're not keeping any exempt players or minor leaguers? #-o
  16. All teams must have their completed keeper rosters posted here by 2/28/09. If they are not posted by this time they will be picked for you by myself and Tim. Please let me know if you have any questions.
  17. Looks like Pohlad has now been contracted. 8-[
  18. I agree with you on Soto and that is why I traded him this offseason. I would go with Hamels and Phillips. That was my feeling as well. Before last season my keepers were Hamels, Tex, Vlad and Phillips. Vlad is on the decline and I like replacing him with Longoria. I have some pause about keeping Hamels over Price though. Hamels is good for Ks, but the rest of his stats aren't eye-popping. We haven't had a limit on the number of years a player can be kept until this year. Starting this year, it's three seasons. Not that it matters, but I think two years from now I'll wish I had Price. Like you said earlier though....it's about keeping players that could/would/should be top 40 picks. Right now that's Hamels and not Price. Price is a great prospect but still unproven. Plus, couldn't you still pick him up in the draft?
  19. I agree with you on Soto and that is why I traded him this offseason. I would go with Hamels and Phillips.
  20. Here's wishing a happy and healthy holiday to all our members and their families!

  22. Torry Holt vs. San Fransicso or Derrick Mason at Dallas
  23. Another big game for Dallas Clark!! The guy has gone off for me when I've needed it most.
  24. That's correct. He can trade Wells and Furcal and/or points for players as long as he stays under the 33 player limit which would mean trading additional players or releasing some.
  25. The Rays will competitive for the next 3-5 years. They are going to be the new Oakland A's. Always seem loaded with young talent and then let that talent walk to bigger contracts or trade for more prospects and then reload.
