  1. The Tijuana Toros put up 6 runs in 3 innings off of Ohtani today but he did put up a 6:1 KBB
  2. Isn't he the guy that had the FO excited about due to his consistently high exit velocity?
  3. Our team is full of excellent character. One thing I've truly appreciated during the 3 years we've become a preeminent club that rarely gets mentioned is how classy we have been. We don't get dragged into shenanigans when we are clearly baited or when other players take shots at us and we just continue to roll on as one big happy family (after cutting Miggy loose). Everybody has class and respect and that goes a long way in building and sustaining a dynasty.
  4. Message to players with wildly inconsistent careers: you might want to consider those team-friendly deals if they're offered. What up, Addy?
  5. And there's this latest quote from Kershaw: Some of these guys sure are salty about his choice... I always find it amusing when pro athletes say “I could care less” and editors have to fix the quote with brackets so that it makes sense. To be fair I feel like it's a eureka moment when I hear somebody use the phrase properly
  6. Most definitely cannot disagree with this
  7. To be fair I do think they did far more than us to address their future needs at the trade deadline during their WS run, if that makes sense. Then they added another high ceiling arm in the off-season. We still went into our reigning champs season with Lackey in the rotation, the Brett Butler amalgam, a rental closer, and a punch and Judy OB threat in CF replacing a stud OB threat who could actually rack up XBH and provide a much more noticeable impact atop the lineup. We turned around the season before the break but we came out lethargic and the majority of fans were rightfully disappointed in the team during the first 3 months. We lost 10 more games. Spin it any way you want but none of us expected to win 92 games.
  8. Appel at least hung onto lists for several seasons. Agreed on the comp. Aiken has had a precipitous fall too. Struggling to hit 90 in A-ball. True. I was pretty big on him leading up to the 2014 draft too.
  9. I mean you've heard of Mark Appel right? He was taken #1 right ahead of KB lol. I'm not that high on Mickey Moniak, but he should reach the big leagues. He might end up being their version of Albert Almora. Appel at least hung onto lists for several seasons. Agreed on the comp.
  10. Has Mickey Moniak had the most precipitous fall from grace for a #1 overall pick in history? 1 draft removed and BA dropped him out of the top 100 and I believe MLB has him in the 80s somewhere. He had a laughably awful year last year. At least Taylor had a good reason and was pretty good pre-injury.
  11. DeJong just got a 6 year extension at 26m with 2 more option years to max it out at 51m
  12. Nelson is awesome but there's a lot of good OL to choose from and we need more picks IMO more than we need a possible great OG.
  13. I personally think they should predominantly have Cohen at WR. Dude has fantastic hands and made a lot of shoestring catches on poorly thrown balls, good routes, creates plenty of separation, and can make anybody miss in an open field. Move him around, give him some runs, but definitely use him more as an extension of the running game by getting him out in space. Sign a guy like Crowell to pair with Howard and lighten Cohen's load in the backfield. Hyde would be a good idea also, I just feel he will have several suitors and could draw more $ than we want to pay. The Pats have been utilizing shifty, undersized receivers for a decade to tremendous effect and the Chiefs just unleashed Hill in a way that I can easily see Cohen being similar to.
  14. Yeah hasn't gotten it done. I only saw one outing but do you think the climate has affected his breaking stuff?
  15. disagree. Example: About Last Night, Demi Moore says she can't be with Rob Lowe because his butt is smaller than hers and that just don't make no sense on a variety of levels. How the hell do you remember such a trivial part of a crappy 30 year old movie
  16. Didn't the JD deal push them just a tad under the 2nd level? This would be hilarious. Spend over 300m for a 90 win team.
  17. He's also struck out our best MLB hitter 70% of the time he's faced him
  18. Yes. See what sticks and try to find the next Brandon Morrow this way. I mean every team does this to an extent and at least Morrow showed some ace flashes in MLB. Still has one of the highest single game scores in history. I feel like there's an error when I look at Hultzen's page and he hasn't even thrown 200 professional innings.
  19. So he took 2 well located pitches against a top 3 pitcher and missed the one he swung at, while Scherzer went on to strike out 4 of the other 8 batters faced. You guys are kind of obsessed with hating Tim Tebow.
  20. Not sure if you guys want a thread about the combine so ill just post this here OT Jaryd Jones Smith is 6'7 and set a combine record with a 7'4 wingspan. Also ties Dwight Howard for biggest in NBA measured. My goodness.
  21. Russell likely omitted due to personal exploits
  22. Good stuff because every other tanking team lost or is losing tonight Earlier in the year I couldn’t get behind rooting for the team to lose individual games even though I wanted them to get a high pick. Not having that problem anymore Pax is playing the right cards now but I go back to a couple months ago when we were anxious to dump Niko and davell said it might have been wise to just unload him early for what ever they could get. If we had done that we'd easily be in the bottom 3. It's cool that we were able to get a 1st for him but that stretch of really good ball put us behind the 8 ball a bit. However I'm pretty confident that there are at least 5 guys that we should be pretty thrilled if they are available to us. So keep on losing. But good call, davell. That was a pivotal moment in the season for sure. Let's just hope that we are able to claw back into that bottom 3. Good job losing the back to back.
  23. Yeah Maples was really struggling. He's always had shitty control but my hope is that maybe he's pressing a little bit knowing he's battling for that 25th spot and hopefully Hickey gets him on track by the end of the spring. I know it's cliche but he just needs to trust his stuff and throw strikes.
  24. Personally I'm hoping he finds his groove again. He was a hell of a pitcher and one of the most fun to watch.
