  1. Ideal scenario for me is a QB Buffalo likes falls to 8 and we trade for 21, 22, and a 3rd (or maybe a future 2nd). I think the holes we have can be filled very well with prospects that are borderline top 20 now. I mean the combine hasn't happened and things will change after that but I feel very confident that there will be good OT, WR, CB, Edge players available at those 2 slots. Every year some very good players get taken in the 20s. This year won't be any different.
  2. It is a stalled market. Maybe Cobb will take the 3/30 he's worth.
  3. They also omitted Harvey Haddix throwing 12 perfect innings
  4. Wait, Curtis Enis scored a touchdown before? Better yet, Curtis Enis gained a yard before?
  5. He seems like the high risk/injury profile pitcher they have shown to avoid. Especially for the likely acquisition cost (would think Schwarbs or Happ or Javy would be asked for). They seem to like guys with cleaner track records or defined injury like TJS (Lackey, Cobb, Darvish, wasn’t TJS but Wade’s elbow). Salazar is all over the place with injuries. Salazar would be a pretty hard pass for me unless the asking price was low like Monty being the main MLB piece (maybe they want some rotation stability, Monty wants to start and we want to take the risk on Salazar). Well it does appear they like to kick the tires each year at least so there's significant interest there. I guess they just haven't made a formal offer.
  6. Eh. I wouldn't say he "collapsed". He was walking off the field and went down probably to avoid his team having to call a timeout or get a delay of game penalty. He looked pretty under control to me. Also, "obviously concussed" is a severe overstatement. You don't have the ability to diagnose a concussion on TV, and you can be woozy without getting a concussion. He was likely seeing stars, but you can't determine if he had a concussion based on watching a play on TV. I'll check my armchair MD at the door but in a couple days after the floods of Cam played concussed articles I'll die a little inside. We see enough of them every week to have a pretty good feel for when they occur. He had his brain rattled on that hit. He wouldn't be the first one to be allowed to play with one after clearing protocol.
  7. I'm surprised we haven't made an official offer for Salazar
  8. And he hits a big TD pass on his 3rd throw back Ha ha wow
  9. Cam is back on the field 5 minutes after collapsing to the turf pretty obviously concussed
  10. It's still elite but it was left in the hands of a toddler with a sagging diaper full of horsefeathers.
  11. There are a lot of threads and twitter links I'm not going to peruse to see whether this news was posted already or not But Mark Prior has apparently been hired as the Dodgers bullpen coach
  12. Honestly I want to hold onto Vic. I mean if he is a piece in that deal for the CCSP we covet, then fine. I won't shed a tear. But I think there is a really solid ML hitter there who will make like 2 mil over the next 4 seasons. If Willy were to miss time, I'd rather see what Vic can bring over a bum like Rivera whom is nothing like the version that showed up after the deadline. I like keeping Caratini and signing Jake or Darvish.
  13. Only if we include Almora in a trade for a pitcher. I would rather give him at bats and sign cheap 4th-5th outfielder than keep him relegated to 300 at bats and spend the money on Cain. He seems like someone the Giants should've signed by now. This was my thought as well. Help soften the blow of an Almora trade. Nope, costs a pick and just kinda averageish on-base skills and it seems a lot of his game will go fast with age. I feel pretty confident Almora/Happ/Heywatd trio in CF for the 162 games they are rotated there will provide a higher WAR. Even if Almora is moved I’d rather go the Dyson/Jackson platoon route for CF and prefer either for the backup OF/Jay role as opposed to moving Almora there with a Cain signing. But this is interesting and makes a lot of sense. Now, defensively, he continues to bring solid value. I think offensively Cain is probably Almora's ceiling, so to speak. I'm not too concerned with the pick but your point about squeezing superior value out of the other less costly options is sound for sure and will probably be the case.
  14. Feelings on adding Lo Cain of he takes a short term deal?
  15. I feel like he gave the phone to his wife and let her respond. Then he added the "save it pal" and debated for 20 minutes whether he should hit send or not.
  16. The source sure could've implied that the talks included all 3 of those players but it doesn't say that we offered all of them in a package together. Honestly the only available players I want to move Addy for would be Archer or Yelich. I don't see our guys pulling the trigger on Addy+ for him unless it includes Gausman coming back, which is what I figure Thoyer is trying for, if they make that swap.
  17. Gonna have 8 players in double digit points
  18. He was screwed. His stats for an interior lineman are insane. Fletcher Cox made it and had half the tackles and 3 less sacks. Hicks has had about as good of a season as you can have at his position.
  19. That said, I think we should grab Reed and Cahill
  20. horsefeathers, I know that it is pointless to think about this but I can't help but wonder what would have happened if we had thrown gobs of money at Jansen last winter. Reportedly he was ready to sign with the Nats until Turner and some of his Dodgers teammates called him and convinced him to go back to L.A.. If we had just gone above and beyond and signed him instead, not only would we have been considerably stronger but the Dodgers would have been a lot weaker and we might have made it back to the WS and also had our closer situation figured out for another handful of years. I just think that when a talent like that is on the open market we should be all over it and we messed that one up.
  21. 11.81 K/9, 5.06 BB/9, 7.59/2.65/3.36. Lights out? Wasn't being serious but obviously they're gambling on the whiffs translating
  22. Astros took Gose in the R5 draft. He was lights out in his 10 innings pitched.
  23. They've already banked 20 losses. Just stay in the bottom 3.
  24. Screw Kintzler, get Cahill
  25. This is bloody brilliant and would probably appease the players, as well as they can be appeased
