  1. I haven't seen you hype the underdog so hard since Candelario. I am pretty sure Murray is gonna be a decent MLBer but dude we don't need the constant reminder of his existence.
  2. lol Pirates took notes and are gonna kitchen sink us with the ol TBD JAG who the Cubs will look hopeless against
  3. The Texans landing a 2nd franchise QB in 6 years, both in drafts in which we had a higher pick, would just be agonizing.
  4. What the horsefeathers happened to the flyballs that were a large part of the draw to adding his bat? He has had a FB rate over 40% for 2 years straight and a rate over 37% for 5 consecutive years. Yet here he is with the Cubs posting his worst FB rate since 2017 and a consequent GB rate of 45%, highest since the same year. Why are the Cubs struggling so mightily to get the ball off the ground?
  5. My expectations were so low already after last week. Today was confirmation that we are several seasons from being a good team. This horsefeathers sucks.
  6. Nothing left to say.
  7. Stephenson horsefeathers sucks. Evans is laughing at this guy.
  8. Wow @ that Elijah Hicks attempted tackle
  9. If you don't have the wherewithal to not hit the QB there you shouldn't be playing NFL football
  10. I don't think I want them to. Good kick by Santos though
  11. No horsefeathers clock in that dudes head. It's inexcusable.
  12. Of course a horsefeathers screen
  13. Stephenson should probably have sat back and just made the tackle
  14. If it's not there in 2 seconds, step out of the box and friggin throw it away Justin
  15. It's true. We have faced a lot of JAG over the last several weeks and have done minimal damage against them. The Cubs offense completely fading down the stretch is an old and tired trend. Something has to give.
  16. I'm both surprised by this, notably for Edmunds, and dubious of whether they can continue it going forward.
  17. Pretty sure we are getting a spot but I am not so confident it will be any different from that last time we did. Our bats just look tired lately, really slow to adjust. We're not even facing good pitching and they're struggling.
  18. I would say 0. Even Edmunds is just a rangy athlete with cover skills and probably slightly above average but just decent overall. We will know in a couple of years the quality of the draft but I definitely didn't love it.
  19. What kind of controlled starter can we expect in return for a 1 win player?
  20. How many playoff caliber starters have we faced over the last month and change since the offense died? Maybe 5? Teams are just kitchen sinking us and we can't do horsefeathers. Can't even score 6 runs in Coors with the worst pitching in the league. Humiliating.
  21. horsefeathers, that hurts. Poles has been bad so far. I pounded the table for a haul of picks, including 2 firsts, so I have to knock him a bit on that trade for taking Moore back instead. It doesn't feel like any of his picks have elite potential. He landed some solid starters - and not just in the sense that they are only good enough to start for the Bears - but overall they are extremely thin and he has refused to sign anyone significant in FA. We're a few years away from being a legit team.
  22. I always felt that the offense came to a halt in the series vs the Mets and now looking at the numbers since, we have hit 244/308/413/95, which is 20th in MLB. During that time, our barrel rate is 27th at 6.2, hard% 22nd at 37.7. Basically no better than average in any important category. It's rough because the rotation has really been stellar for the last couple of weeks and we have relinquished a few pretty easy opportunities to make up ground. I'm not even concerned with winning the division; I think that ship has sailed. I really want them to clinch the top WC spot.
  23. Really that play was spectacular. If the Cubs caught another team's fastest runner that way we'd be effusive with praise, even if it took a fair bit of serendipity to take place.
