Its uncommon but the Phillies did it last year. I don't know that this has been the most resilient Cubs team but it's been a thrill to watch over the last couple months. Early in the season they were awful in high-leverage situations both at the plate and on the mound. It felt like they were gonna come up just short and the pen couldn't hold a 1 run lead for horsefeathers and the hitters just couldn't push that tying run over even though they would usually pile up base runners. They are now 19-18 in one-run games but this team really should be on pace for ~100 wins if not for the struggles in HLS. All year they have been among the best teams in just about every significant facet and as we all know they had way more blowout wins than losses (29-17). They've won a lot of series against postseason contenders and at least showed they belonged, although they didn't dominate any of them. But they had one stretch of 2-3 weeks where they really looked out of their depth. Aside from that they have been a really good team.

Much needed reinforcement. Things are coming along nicely. They are clearly trying to rest the relievers that have carried the load whenever possible. Can't wait to see a power lefty in the pen at last.

They've won plenty of games in spite of his decisions that didn't work out. Let's wait a bit before we flip out.

Hmm he's allowed 18 HR in 77 innings. I believe that is horrendous.

I am really happy with the way they've responded after consecutive crushing losses. I love how locked in Seiya is right now and Steele has my CY vote. Just such an impressive season with the ERA+. I don't think it should be downplayed.

Screw the K extraordinaires in the era of Ks. My CY vote is for Steele, What's holding him back is the IP from his injury but IMO the pitchers carrying ERAs that low these days deserve all the flowers. Him and Snell 1a and 1 b. Snell being 1b because the park he pitches in. Hope Assad can keep trimming those walks. His pitchability grade is pretty dang high. Good pitcher. Extremely valuable to the org.
