  1. Triantos feels like a guy who will hit for a lot more power in the Majors than he does as a prospect. I think he's going to absolutely torch AAA pitching.
  2. horsefeathers. Shows how much I've fallen off.
  3. I know Happ is bad but is he worse than Seiya in the OF? About time they put Cody in RF.
  4. 40 teams jockeying for that playoff and Arraez remains the only significant trade made. It seems like every teamis waiting, not just the Cubs.
  5. His curve has big stuff+ marks in a minuscule sample. The sinker's not bad either.
  6. These guys are falling right in line. McGeary hit a dramatic T9 grand slam to take a 1 run lead and the closer served up a walk off bomb in the bottom half of the inning. Lol.
  7. This team is overwhelmingly stupid. You cannot make this many base running blunders. Dudes need to start getting fined game checks when they get picked off. The amount of outs we make on the bases is totally inexcusable, and we have made the 3rd out at 3rd way, way too many times.
  8. Mariners prospect Hogan Windish hit 4 HR and drove in all 9 of his teams runs last night. He came into the game with 3 HR in 58 games LMAO
  9. Imagine having a 5'7" 1B. This strikes me as quite a bad idea. I guess there's almost precedent for it, although this list is 15 years old. https://www.baseball-reference.com/blog/archives/1200.html
  10. Quite simply, I've lost a lot of faith in the team's ability to adapt to the changing run-scoring environment. Critical players have either plateaued or declined. We're hamstrung with contracts, missing contributors at key positions of which there aren't many interesting FA to target and I'm not particularly confident in Jed's ability to identify the right guy in trade, even if he appears to have done very well acquiring Busch to this point. I don't feel that good about 2025. This season has really soured me, maybe it's stupid IDK. Why do you quote "unload" as if it implies something negative? We don't have Steele for 2028. We have him for 3 arb years after this one. He'll be 29 next year and we will see how his health is holding up but on the injury nexus he'll be entering the red. We have to wait and see what Jed does this offseason but there is a lot of work that needs to be done and not a lot of wiggle room, and he's gonna need to get creative. I see a real possibility that the team flounders similarly next year and at that point you might have to just submit that they're not gonna get it done and make some moves, hopefully in the mold of the Burnes/Ortiz deal where you get immediate imapctful help.
  11. I didn't say this season. Steele is awesome and has 3 more years, I get that. Jed's gonna get another year to try to get the team on track. If we still suck next year I would definitely think the new guy would move him before the 2026 season. Jed could unload him next deadline but I doubt he does.
  12. I agree they should absolutely move Steele. i'm not sure Jed has the balls to push that button, though. He'll cite chemistry and morale and get a pick when the time comes.
  13. I hate defending Jed right now but Merryweather, Alzolay, and Almonte will each miss multiple months.
  14. This should be his benefit of the doubt season. He got the Manager he wanted and pushed the payroll up against the tax and the team is in danger of being last place in the worst division in the league. Ricketts will probably just let him play out his lame-duck season and start anew. A part of me could see Jed resigning also; he looks like total horsefeathers, I bet his body is taking a beating.
  15. Another loss that so perfectly encompasses our season. Absolutely inexcusable to suck so badly with RISP and THROWING horsefeathers STRIKES out of the pen.
  16. Seiya really needs to learn to pull these pitches and stop going up the middle.
  17. He should be gone before then
  18. I'm absolutely shocked to see they have the 7th highest meatball swing%. Can you get more granular with that stat? Like what's the rate of those being pulled flyballs against league average, for instance?
  19. Last night? He pitched 14 innings vs us this year and gave up 4 hits with 15:2 KBB. He absolutely mowed us down, as most pitchers who throw 95+ with good stuff do.
  20. Now that we know he's ok, can we bash the man holding the camera? Holy crap.
  21. They don't need to be a .600 club to make the playoffs but it looks like we will be selling. Not sure we will get much though.
